Chris' birthday was yesterday; we had a party! With cake! And board games!
I think he enjoyed it. All of it, really; he seemed really happy, and it really warms my heart completely to see him smiling like that. ♥
The cake turned out all right, I think... :) Super-moist (I almost cracked one of the layers in half, trying to move it into position!) made-from-scratch chocolate cake with nutella buttercream frosting; he seemed to enjoy it, and the guests didn't appear to mind the slight departure from a more traditional cake. :)
I need to remember to put the nutella buttercream frosting recipe into the recipes wiki... and figure out what to do with all the extra frosting. :X I accidentally doubled the recipe when I was making it, and I have enough to frost a second cake. Ooops.
I also need to learn how to write more neatly with icing. Sigh. Ah, well! :) The handwriting doesn't affect the flavour, at least. :D
