[Closed] Rescue Time!
Who: Donnie, Rock, Leo, Mikey, Blues, Zero, Roll, Bass
Where: Some random space station
When: Early July, say the 7th.
What: A Rescue Mission
Warning: Fae.
Roughly a year ago, Donnie and Rock stole something -someone- from the fae and ended up on various Most Wanted Lists. Their crimes have finally caught up with them; one week ago, both were kidnapped (along with Rush) during a visit to a space mall.
Today, one of Donnie’s beacons activated. Without delay, a group is assembled and ventures into the unknown to rescue the missing two. It’s easy; just follow the beacon and don’t think about all the ‘Wanted’ posters seen over the last year.
Find Donnie and Rock, and get out before anyone is any the wiser.
Easy. Simple.
Nothing can go wrong, right?

The Start of Something
Attention turns back to the docking bay of the small space station and the writing on the floor.
Language:
Pass: Mikey (17), Bass (Nat 20) Blues (16)
Fail: Zero (9), Roll (9), Leo (5)
Roll, Leo, and Zero dismiss it; cool, but not what they are here for. Mikey and Blues, though, recognise it: It’s Aurebesh - the Triceraton language. Not something typically found in Council Space. Odd, but they have better things to do.
Bass, though, being a Dinosaur Nerd, knows that the Triceraton language was named after the Original Three Emperors and the Herd -the First Herd- they came from. It takes from the first two syllables of their names. As to why it might be here: Obviously this is a space station that could have belonged to them then been abandoned for whatever reason! However, as confident in his assessment, this is just the docking bay, and while he takes some quick photos... he is with a group.
And something is off about this whole thing and it’s not the outline of two cloaked ships Leo noticed on landing. No. It’s something else.
It's the silence. Unnatural and eerie as emergency lighting casts long, stark shadows that only serve to emphasise how empty everything is. It feels almost liminal, as if the group has intruded into a realm they shouldn’t have.
It is deafening and heavy in its stillness. Each step forward is almost deafeningly loud in an area that feels profoundly transitional, like a waiting room between worlds, perpetually holding its breath as it radiates an intense feeling of recent, inexplicable abandonment.
Comms are down, and the way forward feels like a threshold, like a choice to be made. A choice to Somewhere. To nowhere.
The only path is forward. So, onware the heroes go.
Narrow corridors lined with sterile off-white panels curve past small, functional modules designed for smaller species, maybe 16ft at best. A cramped mess hall with chairs pushed neatly under tables. A tiny observation bay where the star field outside seems impossibly loud against the inner quiet. A small rec area with chairs perfectly aligned. A lab bench wiped clean. A barracks with the sleep pods open, the beds within neatly made.
Each room has sealed lockers and blank control consoles.
There are no signs of struggle, merely an empty, unsettling space filled with familiar shapes that the occasional flicker of lights distorts and twists. Sometimes, they all think they see a shadow on the wall, watching and waiting.
Blink, and it's gone. Blink, and it’s easy to become disoriented.
Perception:
Pass: Leo (18) Skittles (15), Roll (19), Mikey (17), blues (22)
Mid-Pass: Bass (14)
Fail: Zero (10)
Zero lags behind, confused about which way they should be going, while Bass is rather very loudly opinionated that, yes, he totally knows the way. Luckily, the rest of the group, headed by Blues, knows the way forward.
Yet when they round the next corner, they see the following on the floor.
Children, 'neath my control.
The past erased, a new truth shown,
My craft, my care, entirely my own.
My dearest darlings, stories spun,
No truth remains, but what is won.
In every curve, my vision lies,
Reflected in your eager eyes.
Mine you are, by hand I mold,
Children, as stories told.
The seeds I planted, start to bloom,
Sealed in my embrace, escaping gloom.
It's fresh; it can't be more than an hour old.
Re: The Start of Something
"Look, Bass, if you could shut the fuck up about dinosaurs for 5 minutes, maybe I could get my bearings..."
He realises there's some distance forming between himself and the lead group with Blues on point, and starts to walk faster, not wanting to get trapped at the back with possibly his least favourite brother (that he's met so far, anyway).
"How on earth do you know so much about this stuff anyway? Didn't have you pegged for a nerd."
no subject
"It's called having a damn HOBBY, Pantene Pro V," he huffs, "Something people do when all their spare time isn't taken up by dealing with twelve feet of hair."
He glares and HUSTLES AHEAD AS WELL. Can't be seen associating too much with this. THIS.
"ROLL!" He hollers, "I don't know where you picked it up but I want you to know you are the fucking SUPERIOR blonde wearer of red armor in this group! Any others are LAME AS HELL.
no subject
"Alright, Dino Man, slow your roll. The guy's allowed to have style too," Leo reprimanded with a light-hearted tone, in spite his white-knuckled grip on the strap of the backpack with the lantern inside. The urge to take it out and have the calming light there was hard to resist- it wasn't nearly the same but there was something about this place that reminded him of the prison dimension. Nothing but light and shadow and the remnants of life. Empty.
The needed to get Donnie back, and get out of here. Leo read the inscription with a frown, his free hand resting on his hip.
"Well that's ominous," he stated factually as he read the message a second time. The part about vision around every curve did not help with that feeling that a shadow was watching them.
Any insight, shadow pal? he thought aloud, on the off chance the shadowy figure that popped up in his vision and dreams every once in a while was willing to shed light on the situation. If you feel like sharing, I'm all ears.

Roll feels odd in her armor. She's been training with it a little bit, just to make sure she's used to the feeling but considering the last time she used it for any real fighting... She glances at Blues and something inside her pangs. But she doesn't feel any sort of evil influence, nothing trying to creep it's way into her mind and her brother needs help. It's best she is as prepared as she can be and the armor can only help her at this point. She can be strong and work her way through the fear, just like a sister should.
At least it's easy to get distracted with all the yelling. She turns back as her name is called, a little surprised by the... compliment? If you can consider it that. She reaches back for the broom she keeps handy for keeping nuisance robot masters in line. She has yet to test it on Bass, so she isn't quite aware of the effectiveness but... no time like the present.
"Thank you, but it's not a competition," she says through gritted teeth. They were all here for the same reason so she better try to keep the peace. She doesn't pull out her broom after all. For now.
The words don't make much sense to her as she reads them over. "Is it a riddle? Or a warning? Or maybe it's trying to tell a story. It couldn't have been left here for us... could it? Did they know we were coming?" This whole place is kind of creeping her out.

This was Mikey's worst fear come true. After Raph's disappearance, it was only a matter of time before something happened to Leo or Donnie. He was already clingy to begin with but now with Donnie gone, Mikey was all but physically attaching himself to Leo.
At least they can rescue Donnie and he didn't just vanish like Raph did. They know where he is, mostly.
Gotta look on the positive side right? Even when his chest felt tight enough it might turn inside out.
He just wants everyone back together again. He once tore a hole in the fabric of the universe to get his brother back and now what is he doing? He's never felt so useless.
George isn't even here with his little bundle of comfort. For the best, but Mikey feels empty without the weight on his shoulder, the little chirps in his ear and he keeps having little moments of thinking he forgot something.
Doesn't help that this whole place gives him the heebie-jeebies.
He wonders if Bass is going to yell the whole time.
"Leo's right, we're all here to work together." Not exactly what Leo said, but close enough.
Mikey stops as he reads the poem or whatever it is and frowns. "I mean... it's just words right? Probably nothing to worry about."
no subject
Blues is frustrated, angry, and immediately tired of all of the people on this team. Well. Most of the people. He's glad Roll is there (with her armor!), and Zero is cool as long as he doesn't go batshit insane on them. (He's not holding out hope of not having a repeat of that Other(tm) coming out.)
Bass is loud though, and he hasn't worked closely with the turtles. Although Leo seems stable.
Man he hopes this rescue mission goes smoother than the one to get Roll.
He rubs at the bridge of his nose, pushing his shades up momentarily to do so, and squints at the poem etched onto the ground. Cool. Great. Esoteric poetry.
"It's probably a riddle. We're most likely dealing with fae. It's common knowledge that faes are tricksters and can talk anyone in a circle. Obviously they knew someone would be coming for Rock and Donnie. We don't exactly make our attachments to family a secret." He drops a hand to fiddle with the end of his scarf. "Do we know why Rock and Donnie were wanted by the fae?"
They've seen more than a few wanted posted for their siblings after all, but he can't recall what they were wanted for.
He was going to put Rock in a headlock when he found him again.

Soon enough, they turn down the finall hallway, and everyone feels uneasy. Something is not right.
Where warmth once shone for a long, long while.
The spark is gone, the laughter stilled,
A hollow shell, a spirit chilled.
But before they can think too much about it, movement at the end of the hall, and a triceraton woman, no more than 15ft, darts away to a set of ornate doors, while the other, a triceraton man, points a spear at the group.
“Monsters, but we knew you’d come! They dreamed it.” He snorts, tail lashing in agitation. “But you’re expected. Enter, before I change my mind!”
no subject
He's mostly talking because there's a chill down his spine he doesn't like. He doesn't like this kind of feeling...
Suddenly he shoves his way to the front of the group.
"YOU!" he points, optics wide, bad feeling in his fuel tank momentarily swept aside.
"Could I-" he stops, he can't ask for a fucking selfie in this circumstance! Or... can he? Donnie and Megaman would understand... Dammit. He can't.
"I'm a big fan."
no subject
Charm: Nat 20
For a second, the triceraton is ataken back, before he nods. "You know of us? Very well, I shall permit it."
Bass gets about 5 selfies before he finds himself and the rest of the group all most shoved through the doors. Enough waiting, they are expected.
They step into a into a large, circular ballroom with five large chandeliers.
There is so much to look at that it’s hard to pick a point to start. The floor is marble; a pale lavender and adorned with an intricate, swirling pattern of light purple and white for elegance. The design centres on a large, diamond-shaped section with iridescent streaks of light; some kind of rainbow gem from one of the many, many worlds that produce it.
It feels almost magical and ethereal.
Numerous round tables are arranged symmetrically around this central feature. Each is neatly set with pale purple table linens, plates and cutlery, floral centrepieces, and four chairs. The overall arrangement suggests a carefully planned formal event, and to the sides, the remains of a buffet.
Potted trees, lush and green, are in strategic positions around the edge of the room, creating a sense of a garden, yet there’s something off about it. Something not quite right, even though they contribute to the warmth and elegance of the ballroom.
Curved staircases lead up to the upper level where, behind a shimmering force field, a grand piano sits and a single, forlorn figure dressed in red sits. Leo recognises him as Tezca; Queen Maeb’s Psychic Champion from the Grand Wild Hunt. Something about Tezca suggests he does not want to be here.
Eyes track along the perimeter of the room; the large arched windows, framed by ornate light fixtures that seem to cage fire itself; yet where once the stars seem too loud, they are but distant background noise compared to what is before you.
Near the columns that support the upper level, at the only table that bears the remains of a meal, Donnie, Rock, and Rush sit next to a storm cloud person- no. A fae that is a strange cross between an elf and a living cloud with insectish features that wears a mask with a razor grin and has no discernible gender that you can see.
The triceraton woman darts up the staircase and steps behind the shimmering barrier, staff clutched in her frightened hands as the doors behind the group close with finality, and the pair of triceraton flanking them remain behind personal shields. They won’t step in unless asked.
“Our ... ‘guests’. Th-They've found us. Oh, my darlings...” The fae’s voice wobbles as the living cloud stands and makes to shield Donnie and Rock. “It’s alright. I’ll defend you and won’t fault you should you flee to the barrier, my darling children.”
Grusa would, but Donnie and Rock don’t need to know that. Not when the monsters are here.

He powers up into his armor, shakes his arm once as it gains his Buster. He awknowledges no one. Just a creeping twitch of a nervous smile.
He holds his arm out in front of Grusa. A silent protection. Even if that arm twitches.
He doesn't look right, with those bio cables draped to the floor. Even before powering up, they were there. Unable to focus or think, like he's...-
His red glow of optics a reminder of a phantom.
How he wishes to tell them to leave... but they will not. Monsters never leave. Not untill they stop twitching.
Rush beside him unfurls wings in his continued growling. Drawing Rock's attention as he walks in front of his dog as well as Grusa.

Donnie almost looks in a daze where he sits, his chair strangely adorned with a bright fuchsia structure that looks somewhat out of place given the rest of the decor. He'd been zoning out, the closest he can manage to napping with his eyes open, lost in the thumping, electric beat of whatever's been bumping in the headphones he wears, topped with glowing cat ears. That helps too, the music. Ah, but now he must focus.
He straightens where he sits when they enter, looking at the Triceraton before glancing at Grusa. There's a fleeting look of fear that passes across his face, but he seems to make up his mind about something, and as Rock gets up, Donnie rests his clawed hands on the table to do the same.
And when he stands, those fuchsia things behind him move with him, unfolding into eight, long, spindly spiderlike legs, all save for one pair ending in cruel spike-like points while the other two are slightly thicker and bear tiny pronged claws. What's worse is they seem to be attached...somehow, to the turtle's soft shell.
"We'll do no such thing, father," he says, moving to flank Grusa's other side. "They'll never separate us!"
no subject
Grusa will once the 'monsters' close in, but for now, the children need the support of the one they call 'Father'.
no subject
The monsters from his nightmares, those who want to hurt father, to take them away from him! He won't let them!
He leaps away from the table, skittering across the room with unnerving ease for having so many legs at his disposal. Leo and Mikey would catch the familiar gleam of a pendant before it is hidden again beneath the folds of the scarf Donnie wears. He settles onto the ground again on his feet, he pulling out a strange ...keychain? Mikey would definitely be familiar with it since he was with Donnie when it had been found. Claimed? -the strange little turtle-shaped...
Uh-oh.
"Carashell, I choose you!"
...okay, so there are some things even fae can't really completely get rid of.
He tosses the keychain over the tables beside him and it expands in a swirl of light into a creature some ten feet long. And it does resemble a soft shell turtle, from its longish neck to the funky, pointed snout. This one just has a pair of wings and a tail that against all reason, is a drill. It hisses in the direction of the group by the door.
no subject
Everything feels like its put back in the wrong place. It itches why can he feel the sensation of itching, nausea, fear. He'd ask but some how he feels he would never get an answer.
He looks at the chandeliers as he moves forward to catch up with Donnie.
He speaks to the intruding monsters. "You have only one chance to retreat!" He fires on the chandelier in front of them.
Even still like this, he's in there. At least he's not as shut down as what Wily had done to him.

Blues Acro: 29 (Pass) | Damage: 28
Zero Acro: Nat 1 | Damage: 110
bass Acro: 6 (Fail) | Damage: 43
While the chandlier remains stubbornly in place, it unlesses a three blast of fire down at Blues, Zero, and Bass. While Blues manages to avoid the worst of it, Bass and Zero are not as lucky. None of them are unscathed by the fire; Zero the worst and horror of horrors, his hair is now singed and smoking a bit too!
The guards nearest snicker and jeer, safe behind their force shields.
Grusa
Attack 1: 19 (Miss)
Attack 2: 12 (Miss)
Attack 3: 14 (Miss)
Grusa smiles under the mask before the fae moves forward with all the worry a father would have. "You monsters won't take my darlings! Not my children!"
Ugh, maybe a smaller room would have suited, but this is to be a grand thing of misery and woe. Starting with the turtle looking the least willing to fight, who is just within range. Leonardo.
With a wing flick, Grusa summons three needle-thin lightning bolts and sends them at him in rapid fire.
Alas, the attack hisses, probably due to distance, but the fae remains in place, for now.
Re: Grusa
Roll wants to scream. First she is kidnapped and forced to fight her family and now it's all the same all over again just in reverse. And she doesn't even know if she can talk to him to snap him out of it. Not when Rock barely remembered who she was on a good day, only the space that she left behind.
And Donnie... He was so nice, it hurts to see him caught up in all this too.
She flinches as the fire hits just in front of her and she puts a hand on Blues shoulder as she checks briefly that everyone is okay. That clearly hurt but they're all still standing at the very least.
"I know my words probably won't reach you Rock!" She yells, extending her wings and launching herself into the air. "But know that I am going to save you. Attack me all you want but I am bringing you home!"
She flies across the room. She will not attack her brother, but there is a clear connection to Grusa and a good chance the fae is the source. If she can take that out.
Without hesitation, Roll pulls up her bow, loads up and energy arrow and launches a precision shot at Grusa.
Grusa
Damage: 62
"Ah!" Grusa yelps as the arrow strikes true, the energy sinking into the fae's storm cloud-like skin. Interestingly, Grusa doesn't bleed, but the fae seems to... spark. As if to bleed lightning itself.

“Well look who exchanged his dinosaur rights for fucking crustacean rights,” he steps forward and unholsters his great sword’s hilt. It looks like the skull of some monstrous made up dinosaur or dragon. The jaws snap open and a long wide blade of energy pours from it.
“Listen up Lobster you better get your senses back before I get to you or I’m gonna have to beat them into you,” his optics glint dangerously and he holds up his other hand as his buster appears around it, “And you usually have a lot of that so it’s gonna take me a really long fucking time.”
He blasts the creature Donnie released moments ago.
no subject
Bass: Terrifying Gaze on Donnie.
Alas, the shot misses, but at least Bass won't be attacked by Donnie?
Carashell
The carashell growls as the attack from Bass misses it, but it effectively pulls Donnie's attention frontwards. "Ugh, you are so annoying!!" And how dare he call him a lobster!! And yet he can't help but flinch back at the look from him, as much as he has this urge to punch this monster in the face with something very big.
But that's fine because the Carashell takes seems to take an instant disliking to the loud one. It makes its move towards Bass, electricity of some sort sparking across its being.
When it stops, it rears up as much as it possibly can on those flimsy looking little rear legs, letting itself crash down to send a surprisingly forceful wave outwards towards Zero and Mikey.
no subject
Damage: 112 (56 for Mikey)
Bass Battle sense Tank: 56
The attack hits, and once the lightshow has cleared, a blue, crackling aura extends out about 20 feet from the creature.
It's probably nothing good.
TEZCA
At least no one said he had to help in this fight.
At least he's safe behind the barrier...
Rush
"Don't you dare!" Rock shouts as he hears Grusa's pain. They didn't listen to his warning... then there's nothing else to be done.
Rush comes to Rocks' side. Growling low and barking his warnings out at the intruding people. He opens his mouth and fires a short missile on Roll.
"Good boy, down boy. Stay near me." Rock says.
