Character Profiles and Their Animals (World Guide Release)

image

Coco - Dear: Innocence and kindness, innocence in her knowledge of the true nature of the pointed caps world, naive to the darker nature and kind to all she can be kind to.

image

Qifrey - Fox: Foxes are often known for being sly creatures who often use deception for their own purposes. Often Qifrey will lie and deceive for his own purposes and to cover his tracks.

image

Agott - Black Cat: Cats are known for being prideful creatures, and notably this cat is black, which in JP culture is a symbol of good luck! Maybe that means good things are coming in Agott's future or have already come in the form of Coco. Though of course in other cultures it can symbolize bad luck... hopefully that isn't the case.

image

Richeh - Rabbit: Rabbits are known for burying their young to keep them safe, something that can be seen to represent Richeh trying to protect herself from the adults that attempt to control her.

image

Tetia - Lamb: Oh boy, this one worries me. The lamb, known for being sacrificial, dying for another. Add that to the pile of death flags. Other than that, they tend to symbolize the loss of childhood innocence. Shirahama. Please. Please spare Tetia. Why have you been building it up so much Shirahama? Please spare her.

image

Olly - Magpie: They symbolize many things across many cultures, sometimes fortune and happy marriage, other times deception and sorrow, yet at the same time intelligence and the pursuit of truth. The pursuit of truth... how the mind wipe happened every time because he pursued Qifrey for the truth.

Tartah - Japanese Marten: It is no mistake that on the next page it mentions that his hair glows like fire when light passes through it, The Marten is known for its connection to fires and killing one is said to bring fires as punishment. It also has connections to shapeshifting and metamorphosis, in a more physical sense then kitsunes who manipulated the mind more. Fits since his truth spells works in a very physical sense, while yes, it manipulates the mind, it also requires direct contact. They also tend to be bringers of bad omens, most likely because of their connection to fire. Fire can be symbolism for passion, and that would match his passion for healingcraft and helping others, and as well as that it can symbolize rebellion which matches with his rebellion against the system and rules the pointed hats set up.

Euini - Wolf: Wolves tend to symbolize intelligence, loyalty, and freedom. It is quite the opposite of what he seemed to be at the beginning of his arc but as things continued and he become free of the binds he wrapped himself in, the more his intelligence and loyalty shined through. Thinking of spells on the spot, coming up with a plan to help Agott, and helping Agott showed his intelligence and loyalty. This also shows with his freedom when it comes to his physical form, switching between the two while being comfortable doing so.

This was pretty quick to set up so it may not be as in-depth as it could be but I still wanted to share, if anyone has anything else to add please do so! I would love to hear others thoughts.
