 1.  I ate too many cookies last night. But that's okay, because fun things are happening! I feel like I had more reccs for this post but it's like my brain has ceased to function, so if I missed something I assume I will mention it later. Writing has been going pretty well, I still have ten million and one too many things on my list, but whatever. That just means I love this fandom and aren't going anywhere anytime soon. 

2. Because Eames is a big, bulky, sexy mother fucker and I don't care what anyone says about his sartorial choices, he works it so hard and everybody needs to be reminded of this at regular intervals. And honestly, I don't think Arthur gives a fuck how untailored Eames's trousers are when he's standing around looking like this.

Right now though I am watching Glee with KT but it is BUFFERING LIKE DICKS, so I was reading my flist in the gaps. AND I HAPPENED UPON THIS:

This is a fic about Arthur actually being Pubert Addams. Now, I don't know how many of you are familiar with The Addams Family, but this fic is fucking glorious. It nails the dry, dark Addams-style humour and the way it handles the concept is believable, if utterly cracky. Seriously, if this kind of thing is interesting to you at all go read it. I mean, just look at Arthur's response to Eames seeing his hair ungelled and wondering why he doesn't wear it that way all the time:

Arthur released a soft sigh. “When I was a baby I got very sick. For awhile, they didn’t think there was any cure. I did get better, but the curls upset my father and the dimples break my mother’s heart.”

This is so pitch-perfect Addams it hurts me. Even if you aren't familiar with that, if you like fics where Arthur is secretly kind of crazy but still awesome, check it out. 

ETA: THIS IS ALSO NOW A FFX (READ: AURON FANGIRL) PARTY POST. BECAUSE JUST WHEN I THOUGHT INCEPTION FANDOM COULDN'T BE ANY MORE FABULOUS, IT COMES OUT THAT THERE ARE HALF A MILLION AURON/TIDUS FANGIRLS UP IN HERE. IN CASE ANYONE  WAS IN ANY DOUBT THAT  INCEPTION FANDOM IS FULL OF THE MOST AWESOME PEOPLE EVER.

A not so well-known fact about me is that I fucking love horror. It doesn't come up a whole lot in fandom; I'm not good at writing it so I rarely incorporate it into my stories, and tbh I am mostly here for the love stories and bamfery and awesome porn. It's literally my biggest thing outside fandom though, if I weren't already writing my thesis on fanfiction it would be on the abject. WHAT IS THE ABJECT YOU ASK? Let me tell you in just a moment. persephone_il posted a story today that just hit every single one of my horror buttons and has me vomiting rainbows all over the place, because it's a perfect fusion of Inception with the kind of horror I love/everything I love about horror. You can find it HERE, but be careful to heed the warnings. 

TLDR; this led to talk about horror, body horror in particular, which happens to fall neatly into my favourite fucking thing ever to come out of my film studies: the abject. This post is basically going to be a bit of a ramble covering the basics of what the abject is, why I love it, and a few video examples. No seriously, rambly as fuck, so feel free to ask questions if I wasn't actually clear on the theory.
