Friend or not, this sounds amazingly suspicious. Like you're wanting to know how to do something nefarious with a persons conscious thought being taken away.

Ah, ghosts. Great. In that case, to actually answer your question, I have not heard much about people using the crystal amulet itself as a catalyst for Dunamis. If you're asking about using it, I assume this is not some normal spirit and need something powerful to help.

The spirit in question is definitely powerful, so . . . yes, something with a little [ . . . ] kick would help. Afterall, crystals were fairly handy against spirits not too long ago . . .

Those seemed different than the usual kind of ghost you would find, so be wary about using those as a base point.

I was going to suggest focusing on calm emotions and harmonious environments, in order to help build an area where one would be more inclined to rest. But I'm getting the feeling that won't cut it. Am I correct?

May I ask for a clarification? Is this an influencing kind of possession or a take over kind?

Also you did say put the ghost to sleep.

[ It takes a long time for his response to come through. So long, it may make Alice think he's not going to. Asking for advice is one thing. Asking for help is harder. And telling a complete stranger the sordid details is the hardest part in all this. But he's running out of options.

This world has not had to deal with this kind of thing often, so finding someone well learned in the art is likely the only way to use this worlds methods.

I am not an expert, just someone who has been around since it was introduced to Verens and us from other worlds. What I can do is offer some methods to stave off sleep, which should help delay problems. Would this be okay?

um. what exactly do you mean by "subdue one's consciousness?" i mean, i guess that sort of happens with the whole crystallization thing, but i've never heard of someone using the amulets to do that before?

Well, my friend is sort of . . . possessed, you could say. There are two souls in one body, and the soul that doesn't belong thinks it's prime real estate. He doesn't want him destroyed, though. Only . . . put back to sleep.

I don't know how an amulet could be used in such a way. I only heard from someone that it might be possible.

What is dunamis? Is that the magic people sometimes talk about?

More than likely. They use their emotions to affect the environment and people around them. I've seen one person use it to create a giant bouncing platform made of shadow to catch me when I fell. Others have used it to fight. It's very versatile.
