[ Hey there Verens, have you missed her? Bulma comes to the network today dressed to work, gloves on her hands as she wipes at her brow, dressed in some sort of jump suit that she doesn't mind getting dirty. Even her usual red neck scarf has been redesigned to hold back her bangs from her face. She may not typically be the type to really get in to working in dirt and muck, but she's definitely the woman to be a little too industrious even in a place that's more than a bit behind so far as she's concerned. ]
So we've been working on a little something, over the winter. Gathering materials and all of that.. [ There's a little smile there, almost sheepish. ] So if you've been waiting on a project from me just know I'm not, you know, just sitting on things.
But let's call this a little market research - in terms of a possible hydroponic farm set up, what would you be most interested in seeing, food wise? Medicinals can be factored in too... might as well, right? With the bunch of fighters we have it can't be a bad plan.
[ Though, now that she thinks about it - ] I'd be willing to pay for rarer seeds or plants, if anyone has them. We'd just have to discuss, of course.
Anyway - I'm looking at vegetables mostly for the moment as fruits take a little while longer to generate but, hopefully, with any luck and the greenhouse effect in full swing, it won't take too long to have fruit bearing plants.
There's also the possibility of fish and other aquatic animal raising, so if there's anything from here that you would be particularly interested in, or anything that tastes particularly like home you'd like to be able to get a hold of possibly a little easier? Let me know.
And keep your eyes peeled for spring and summer!

Hydroponic. [ Bulma corrects with a smile, and then in typical nerdy Briefs form - ] It's a method of growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the mineral solution, or the roots may be supported by an inert medium. Uh.. that being something like gravel or pebbles, that kind of thing.
So it's easy to plant and grow without having to do things like turning soil and all of that, basically.
no subject
P-ponyc... [ Her description doesn't sound like it has anything to do with horses though. Language sure can be strange. ]
How are they supposed to do that if they don't have support? Like, pebbles, and that? Won't it fall over and drown?
no subject
Oh... I understand. Sort of like an android or something. [ Human in appearance but not entirely in function. She's met enough people in that situation that it doesn't really disturb her at all. ]
They have plenty of support. The roots grow in to the pebbles and small rocks so that they don't tip over and the water flow is fairly gentle so that there's not a lot of growth that we don't want like moss or mold or anything..
My son masterminded a lot of this so he might have better specifics if that's what you're after.
no subject
Oh. I thought you meant that some were just in the water. But that makes more sense I guess. Why don't you want moss? I've learned about mold, but isn't moss something nice?

I'm sorry I haven't been around the lab as much to help.
I...wasn't expecting to get a job, to be honest. Let alone one at a bake shop.

Everyone has to have their own thing. [ Though - now that she's said that - ]
But if you wanted to come and work here instead, you know I'm never going to turn you down.
[ Preferring to keep things in the group/family and all. ]
no subject
But I also wouldn't want to abandon Snow White. Not when she was so kind to offer me the job in the first place.
[Admittedly, part of her felt obligated to stay for that reason alone. The young woman's kindness. It also wasn't a terrible job. She was back to taking orders, yes, but there was a huge difference between orders from a customer and orders from Pilaf.]
no subject
You could do both part time, that kind of thing. [ But, since she's just offering things and, for once, not being pushy about the things that she wants - ]
But it's up to you. This won't really be in full swing until it gets warmer, anyways.

Between Trunks and I you probably could, yes. [ There's a little laugh, there, before she asks her next question : ]
Looking to make your home garden a little less high maintenance?
no subject
Well...taking care of the spa is hard work. Jun and Haru were much better tending it than I am, but both have been gone for a while. Some of the plants aren't growing properly.
no subject
No, Trunks is my son. He happened to inherit the family brains, too, so he helps me a bit with inventing, that kind of thing. [ Oy vey. She's getting the feeling that this is going to be a little like dumbing things down for Goku's level of understanding. Not anything she hasn't done before, of course, but.. well. She's hoping that she won't have to do it that terribly much around here. ]
I don't know if a spa would be quite the same as a farm.. with that kind of thing you're talking more like... weeding, keeping greenery okay?
If my spa experience speaks to anything at all here?

We'd be happy to have you, if that's what you want to do.
I like keeping these kinds of things in familiar hands when they're starting out anyways. It makes it a little easier to step back when I may need to, if I have to go to the lab and do things there instead.
no subject
[He doesn't get along well enough with others, okay. His universe is better.]
Understandable. Working with familiar hands makes things easier and less complicating. And long as your kids don't have a problem... [Pausing for a moment before sighing.]
I swear, don't take this personally, but seriously, it feels like I'm a big target for your kids. I get it from one Trunks, and now there's another that was ready to pounce on me.
[Why is life so hard?]
no subject
Hopefully it stays a better option, then. [ Listen, 17, she'd like to keep you on as much as possible. She's not an animal person and she doesn't want to get too much in the way of Gohan's studies, if that's what he still really wants to do. It doesn't seem right to keep him away from them, at the very base of it all. ]
They'll have to deal with it. I'm their mother and I'll make decisions as I want to. [ Basically : she'll put her foot down, just tell her where it needs to happen. ]
I don't really know the details on what's happening with the younger Trunks. He doesn't want to talk about his future much and pushing it gives the same results as pushing Vegeta, which is just more aggravation than I need in a day.
If they have too much to say let me know and I'll handle it. If there's anything that's the same it's that they're both still good at listening to their mother.

[ Look, it's cold and he's been craving soup, okay? ]
no subject
[ Geez, man. You're intense over soup stock, huh? Bulma's face may go a little... er.. let's just call it 'strange' for a moment as she swallows the passionate bid for soup stock - ]
You're a little much when it comes to soup, huh?
no subject
[ Allen crosses his arms, his intense energy relaxing like his outburst was completely normal and perhaps hadn't even happened. ]
I eat a lot to keep my energy up, so eating well is important! That means good food is just as important.
no subject
... Even Vegeta isn't that intense about food. [ And saiyans were pretty damn intense about their food and how much of it they were going to get. This guy.. well, she supposes there could be saiyans in other worlds but something about him doesn't quite fit the description. ]
Either way.. of course we're growing that kind of basic stuff.

And what's my turn around for selling to the bakery? [ Listen, kid, she's not new to this business stuff. Sure, maybe not with farms or anything like that, but there's a lot to figure out when it comes to businesses and business exchanges, that kind of thing.
Of course - ]
Are we talking Snow White's bakery, by the way?
no subject
[ He's always looking out for ways to help Snow, but only as opportunities. It's still her place. ]
no subject
Oh, I understand. [ Though, not that she thinks about it - ]
My son's girlfriend works there too. Mai.. long, dark hair.
If she wants she can contact me. I'll be in to pick up bread and cakes more than once in the next few days I'm sure. It's the nature of feeding as many people as we do in our little household.
