Spending the day just quietly reflecting on the events that happened 12 years ago. 12 years? How is that even possible? Anyhow. Life must go on, and we mustn't dwell on the past too deeply, but those who forget history completely are doomed to repeat it. Hopefully this country eventually wises up...

The victims are with their Maker, so they do not need our prayers. My prayers go out to everyone who lost someone or something that day, to everyone who escaped the buildings with their lives intact, to those who volunteered in the aftermath.

I am a member of a certain grief/loss community on Facebook, and lately all I can do is rage at the people who write their paragraphs as one, giant, run-on sentence. Seriously, how hard is it to throw in a period or so in there so I can understand what the hell you're whining about?!

I am such a bitch...

Blog Every Day In May

So, I'm going to give this a shot!

Day 1, Wednesday--your life story in 250 words or less

I was born on Sunday, April 1, 1984 with a blue face and a full head of brunette hair. I was born to Daniel and Christine in Oak Lawn, IL, and I would spend all of my childhood in several south Chicago suburbs along with my younger brother, Kevin. I attended St. Paul's Lutheran in Chicago Heights for kindergarten through 8th grade. I was an avid member of Writers Club, a trumpet player in Advanced Band, a Spelling Bee champion, and an occasional member of the Pom Pom squad. I then attended high school at Marian Catholic, where my love for music grew even more as a member of the Marian Catholic marching band. I was also in the same section as my future husband! After high school, I attended Valparaiso University for 4 glorious years. I majored in Biology, though I did not complete my degree. I married Adam, the love of my life, on May 17, 2008. After several moves, we now reside in South Georgia with our cat, Tessie. I am currently employed by TJX Incorporated, aka TJ Maxx, but I am contemplating and plotting my return to school so that I may finish my degree. My plans for said degree are a work in progress, so who knows what will happen! After all, there's so much I want to do, and I'm not even 30 yet!

...wow, when you boil it down to the absolute basics, my life looks positively boring. But it so isn't! At least not for me...

I'm not posting this on Facebook, because quite frankly I'm not in the mood to deal with people bitching at me for it, but...

I hate white people.

I never thought I'd say this, but...I'm considering getting a tattoo. Either a small leaf, or a small sprouting plant, such as a bean sprout. I'd probably get it on my upper back/shoulder, or near my hipbone--places I can cover up for future professional jobs. Nothing huge, just a tiny little thing, more for my personal reflection than showing off. Thoughts?

(Note: this tattoo would have a lot of significance in relation to recent events...)
