Dreamwidth announcement

x-posted to all of the LJ comms I maintain, so apologies if you see this multiple times on your flist.

Not too long ago I created a We Are The Fallen Dreamwidth Community because of all of the crap LJ was going through. Well, Dreamwidth recently announced that starting next week, they will have COMMUNITY IMPORTING. So everything from this community will be imported into the Dreamwidth community, and therefore you'll have 24/7 access to everything in the comm even when LJ is down.

Also, Dreamwidth is allowing everyone to make an account WITHOUT AN INVITE CODE for the remainder of 2011. So if you always wanted an DW account or want to switch exclusively to DW but couldn't because all of your favorite comms were here at LJ...never fear!

So, good news to those of you who have made the great migration over to DW! And entries made there will still be cross-posted here to LJ, of course. Happy holidays, and I hope to see you over at DW. :)

Mod post: Dreamwidth

Hi there!

I just wanted to drop a line here and say that if you're a member of Dreamwidth, I've created a general We Are the Fallen community over there called [community profile] wearethefallen.

Obviously most of the action will continue to take place here at LiveJournal, but when LJ inevitably crashes again in case LJ goes down again for an extended period of time, I've created another place for you to post about Carly and WATF. :)

Cheers!

Carly needs your help!

Ok guys so here it is !!! This means so much to me and I would be so grateful if you guys could help me raise $3000 dollars . My husband Todd is going to run the NYC marathon this November . He will be a member of the National Stroke team and will run to raise money for their charity. Stroke has become very much a part of my life over the past few years and I have thrown myself into researching everything about it. I started experiencing mild symptoms while out on tour with my band We Are The Fallen last year and then when tour ended something a little more serious happened. Im still undergoing tests with my doctors and hope to never experience a full blown stroke. Since getting off tour Ive been able to surround myself with a wonderful medical team. I feel like im in good hands and hope to get back out on the road with my band sooner rather then later lol. Oh how I miss them all !!!! Anyway please help me raise the goal of 3k so Todd can run and I can meet him at the finish line :)
Love you guys !!!! Lets do this
Carly XXXXX

A Message from Ben Moody

This isn't an update directly featuring Carly, but it involves new music from her and We Are the Fallen so I figured I'd post it anyway. :) You can read the entire note here, but here are the highlights that involve new music and such:

We are no longer part of the Universal Republic roster. Over the course of the last year many changes were made at the label and it became apparent that we were not a priority. But, like everything in the music business, change doesn't happen overnight. After our second single was delayed, then changed, then delayed and changed two more times; the majority of the year was gone and both parties mutually agreed to go our separate ways.

I am currently working out manufacturing and distribution; and to all of you in countries that were unable to buy Tear The World Down due to unavailability… fear not. I'm working diligently to make sure the DVD, BluRay, AND live audio CD are available worldwide. In the mean time, I'll be posting another video from the show today, WITH free download of the audio. Tomorrow, I'll be posting a free download of the audio from "Separate Ways."

We are currently at work on two E.P.'s due out in a few months. The first is a collection of covers from the 80's (in my opinion the best decade of music EVER) followed a couple months later by 5 new songs. So, by the holidays you'll have a live dvd, live cd, cover EP, original EP…. and a few surprises still to come.

Yay for new We Are the Fallen music! I wondered why they'd completely disappeared while Carly was working with Cirque, but I'm glad they're making up for it with lots of new music! I NEED MORE CARLY IN MY LIFE!

Smithson and Slezak at it again!

For those of you who remember Idolatry on EW.com, Michael Slezak's new show Idoloonies at TVLine.com features Carly this week!

Season 7 finalist Carly Smithson and I enter the Idoloonies arena this week and brainstorm ways to infuse Season 10′s swan song with a sense of the unexpected. We talk about one creative move we’d like to see from Scotty, ponder the fashion choices that might help Lauren have a tiny chance at an upset victory, and wax philosophical about the risk-taking awesomeness of recent evictee Haley Reinhart. All that, plus an update on Carly’s latest adventures, and some thoughts on what Scotty and Lauren can learn from this year’s third- and fourth-place finishers.

You can watch it all right here!
