ddr3 differences for xeons
if memory bandwidth is an issue (which it very well could be on visualization workloads), I think the registered dimms are going to come out better.

This info from dell seems to indicate at 2 dimms…

with CVS it's actually pretty easy because you can just scan the file list and find the files whose versions have been bumped.
