Politics, writing, fandoms, yap! Disabled, queer, and absolutely fabulous. Social/political advocacy and fun 💖

Intro post!

Realised I should probably make one!

-Hellooo

-I’m Cosmo Vostok! 🧡🤍

-I love using emojis where I can 👹

-I’m a huge cat lover. You actually cannot overestimate my love of cats. 😽💞

-As such, I have two cats 🐈🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹

-I yap….a lot. I also always appreciate finding new people on here to yap with. 📢🔊

-The orange and white hearts next to my name signify the orange and white of the spacesuits the Space Race era Russian cosmonauts wore - this part of history and spacefaring in general is very important to me; some of my heroes are those brave men and women who saw the universe for just a second and made history doing it. 🚀❤️

-As you may have guessed, the stars, space, the universe, our earth and the sea, are things incredibly close to my heart. They always have been. 🌌⭐️🪐🛰️🌲🌊💝

-…and no, I didn’t write that bit about the Russian cosmonauts with AI (proud AI hater) that’s just legitimately how I talk. My narrative voice, sometimes how I talk over text or even in real life, has been described as robotic or as if it were AI generated, but no I just sound like that! ✅

-I’m a minor, as you can see in my bio ⚠️

-I’m very empathetic and politically engaged, so I’m an aspiring politician and political journalist 🖋️📝📣🫶

-As such, I am highly passionate about social justice, issues of human rights, and ensuring dignity for all 🤝💕

-The strength of my moral compass can sometimes be hard for me to see past, so I am ALWAYS open to good faith political and social discussion and calm dialogue! With this in mind, while it is KEY to preventing insular and violent views that one is actively willing to have peaceful good faith conversation, it is also crucial one holds balanced views on when protecting the vulnerable is more important than dialogue. 🧭🗣️

-I love painting/drawing, baking, reading, writing, spending time with my IRL friends, my phone, listening to music, historical fashion of mainly women, and politics/journalism. 🖼️📚👯‍♀️📱📔👗

-Engaging with my favourite medias is deeply special to me, because media to me is what helps make us. All the media I’ve loved is part of me, and I’m not scared to say that. In no particular order, my adorations include Nevermoor series, Doctor Who, Kentucky Route Zero, Hadestown, The Hunger Games, Philosophy Tube, Contrapoints, Caelan Conrad, poetry, tumblr post and quote webweaving, and a lot of other things besides. 👨‍⚕️❓♥️

-I’m secretly a fan of Hello Kitty…

-I’m bisexual, and Disabled. This informs a fair amount of my politics and experience in this world. 💙💜🩷 🌍

-I try to see the beauty and humanity in everything and everyone 💖

-No matter what I blog or repost, it is crucial that everyone who sees my content understands the core of my politics is compassion. It’s love for my country, and ultimately humanity. A powerful belief in free, equal democracy, community, and the right of everyone to justice, joy, and liberty. High welfare and quality of living is a human right, and I believe change is possible.

The Good Place is an excellent show for many reasons, but one that doesn't really get talked about enough, probably because of how the season 1 twist obscures it, is that the 'No Exit'-esque "Hell is Other People" scenario for an afterlife of eternal torture is an avante garde experiment from an Auteur demon who's trying to convince the other demons of his Vision while they're like "idk man flaying genitals works really good"

I’ve been described as mad but not as mad as I ought to be Considering

I got curious and looked into the ‘you can only have sex one day of the year’ movie more and holy shit

for those not as invested in this shit as I am, the movie ends with the protagonists not having sex and deciding people who like having sex are shallow and weird. Yknow. Agreeing with the facist government banning them from having sex.

If you think about it for more than a second, yes it is.

do you guys ever think about those extinct animals that traversed the cold, wild landscapes of the Pleistocene and never knew that over 10,000 years on, people would talk about them and love them for their beauty and survival?

my Roman Empire is the La Brea Tar Pits in modern day LA where millions of fossils are preserved there, just as amazing in death as they were in life.

I love you giant otters <3

I love you direwolves <3

I love you Smilodon sisters <3

Apparently when i was a kid as soon as i could dictate what i wanted for christmas i asked for nothing but a 'glamorous chair' in my letters to santa over and over until my mum got tired of my relentless faggotry and staplegunned a purple feather boa to a stool for me

How to Finish

I drew this poster for Jon Acuff and his FINISH book tour. Big thanks to Jon for this collaboration, his book has some great ideas about how to complete creative and life goals.

Love this, but reblogging it specifically for “Get rid of secret rules.” That’s one of the most amazing illustrations—and points—I’ve ever seen.

so important especially for perfectionists who procrastinate and never finish, or even start because they set such high standards for themselves.

I want you all to know that an Arab Muslim from Tunis proposed the Theory of Evolution near 600 years before Charles Darwin even took his first breath. Don’t let them erase you.

Also, it was not the apple falling from a tree that made Issac Newton “discover” gravity. He was reading the books of Ibn Al Haytham, an Arab Muslim from Iraq, who pioneered the scientific method, discovered gravity and wrote about the laws governing the movement of bodies (now known as Newtons three laws of motion) some 600 years before Newton existed. Without him, modern science as we know it wouldn’t exist. Read on him. His achievements are far greater than what I’ve just mentioned here.
