Adoptions

So on Labor Day I got a call from a shelter asking if I was interested in two of their kittens that I had put in an application for. Why yes I was, and so I went down to the local Pet Smart that they coordinate with, played with them, and picked them up. I also spent a crap load of money on toys, litter, and other essentials, and then I was on my way.

I named the boy Oreo, after my favorite cookie

and the girl Snow Cap after the SO's favorite candy (well, one of them)

They've adjusted very well, and are a lot of fun, although the girl is a lot more mellower than the boy, who is constantly needing to be entertained. This week they've learned that:
1) Not all jumps are short enough
2) There is no place to land on when the human male is peeing
3) Fake flowers don't taste as good as real flowers
4) If you try hard enough, you can pretty much fit into anything - but you can't necessarily get out as easily
5) and the list goes on...

Nicaragua Part1

In Spring I went down to Nicaragua for a week or so on vacation, so here's the pix from that. There's a bunch, and I'm not going to put comments on every one because I just don't have the time...

The OC you never see

Open land, blue skies, and snow on the mountains - this is how OC used to be... But if you look hard enough, occasionally you can still find pockets that remind you of days gone by...
