Modifying baby block, take two!
Oh sometimes I am dense!
I forgot that shoulder seams are often slanted towards the back! this may not be the case on all baby's dresses, (and so few photos of the backs are available) so I need to check that out!
Anywho how to slope the shoulder seam on the bodice block. Done after dropping the armscye
Back:
measure 3/4" down the dropped armscye line. connect to neckline.
Front:
draw a line 1/2" up from the extended armscye line, not the dropped (would be green in the image.) Connect to neckline.
Divide this new shoulder line in half. measure up 1/8" and mark this point X. now make a curved line connecting the neckline, point X and the new shoulderline.
Connect the new shoulder point to the armscye with an ever so slight curve.
new lowered shoulder seam in purple

of course I need to verify this was done on toddler dresses.
oh and I found last years bodice pattern! (I have one shoulder higher than the other) now to figgure out how to modify it for maternity!
