Pilgrims at the Painting ...

Me 2009

Robert Lansing, or why I went to New York :)

Ok, since I now know how to do pictures; I can do anything :). I hope that fiddling with the time puts this post ahead of the other one (fingers crossed)-- it did not work like I thought it would :(. I don't like backdating, neither the post nor the pictures showed outside of my journal.

This is Robert Lansing's official Players portrait, he was President of the Players from 1991 to 1993. Unfortunately, he passed away on October 23, 1994.

A group of us from across the country gathered in NY to celebrate his birthday, June 5, 1928.

I'm not sad because of the trip, I'm sad because I miss him. Mr. Lansing was a great man as well as a great actor. He's an inspiration to me, especially because he persevered through the hard times to follow his dreams, and there were very hard times.

He was not just a handsome face. He studied for his roles, not just the scripts. He put his heart and soul into his acting. He was always learning. He means a lot more to me than just an actor. I really wish I had had the courage to tell him so while he was with us.
