torq and amy

(no subject)

Hello all! I know this community is mostly dead, but I'd share some pseudo-Stars news. Torquil Campbell's side project, Dead Child Star, just released a new album titled "Cold Hands, Warm Heart."

You can get it here at the Stars site. Torq tweeted earlier today, "this is a self financed vibe folks. please dont upload to a file sharer for a while, at least until ive sold a couple of hundred copiesxoxox"

Anyway, let me know what you all think of the album if you download it!

Stars leaves Arts and Crafts

Saw this posted on the Arts & Crafts home page...

"Arts & Crafts would like to formally wish the members of Stars - Amy, Chris, Evan, Patty and Torquil - the very best in their future endeavours as we officially announce our parting of ways. As foreshadowed in past A&C news postings and following in the footsteps of last fall's self-released Sad Robots EPStars are now entering a new chapter of their career and have decided as a group, to move outside of the A&C roster. The band has been a key figure in our collective successes over the past five years and we are grateful and appreciative of our continued friendship.   We know they will continue to make amazing records outside of Arts & Crafts.  At the same time, we look forward to sharing details for albums in the works from Amy Millan and Memphis (Torquil Campbell) which are due for release on Arts & Crafts this fall."

Anybody know what's going on? I haven't been able to find anything. Personally, I hope they just keep self-releasing albums like with Sad Robots and what Metric's been doing. I'm super excited about the new albums coming out later this year! I didn't know Memphis was releasing a new album, I had only heard about Torq's Dead Child Star. 2009 is proving to be a great year for music.

This nearly gave me a heart attack because all I saw was "members of Stars and parting of our ways" before I investigated further. Crisis averted!

Edit: This appears to have been removed from the Arts & Crafts website.

Set list?

I know this comm's slightly dead, but I have a question!

I'm about to see Stars for the first time in 29 days (not that I'm counting...) and was just wondering if someone could tell me what sort of set list they've been playing since Sad Robot? What I'm likely to hear?

Any help is A+, thank you (:
