Koko ni Shikanai Keshiki campaign

As a campaign for Ryo's new movie, "Kencho Omotonashika," the movie opened up a contest (only applicable to those living in Japan) to upload pictures of their beloved hometowns.

According to the website, the contest began March 4th and will run until 12PM on April 5th, 2013.

If you live in Japan and are capable of either writing in Japanese or having someone translate for you, your photo (and write-up) will be used as part of advertising for the release of Kanjani 8's 23rd single, "Koko ni Shikanai Keshiki."

Rules as follows:

  1. anyone can join (I checked and there's no mention of contestants having to be Japanese citizens)

  2. only one photo per person

  3. the photo must be no larger than 5MB and can only be one of the following file types: JPEG, BMP, PNG or GIF

  4. the photo may contain people, but the photographer must have permission of all persons in the picture prior to submission *** photos containing an indeterminate amount of people (i.e. a lot) will not be accepted

  5. the photo must only be from places within Japan

  6. after you submit a photo, you will not have a chance to delete it - your submission is final and your data will not be returned to you

  7. all submissions must include a written introduction of the photo (300 characters max.) that explain what is so important about the place.

  8. you can apply via the following: computer, smartphone (Android/iPhone), regular cellphone (i-mode/EZweb/Yahoo!Keitai) but not PHS/tablets

All applications must be sent in through the official webpage.  Click the image to get there.

I think it's a wonderful idea.  If any of you live in Japan, I'd urge you to go seek out some really special places where you live and see if you can write something in Japanese or get someone to help you write it.  Who knows, a foreign Eighter might have his/her work used as advertising for K8's new single!

KANJANI 8 NEW SINGLE INFO!!!

According to CinemaToday, K8 will be releasing their 23rd single on April 24, 2013 as the theme song for Ryo’s movie, “Kencho Omotenashika.”

The song is called “ここにしかない景色” (“Koko ni Shikanai Keshiki”).  Start saving up, Eighters!!

I tried posting at the K8 community but I didn't put any tags, so... haha.  Whatever, I own this community so I'm posting here.  Spread the word everyone!

Some additional song information according to the article:
Ryo said of the song, "This movie is set in Kochi, but the theme is that in everyone's town, there is scenery that you can only see there.  I want to see scenery only available throughout the country.  I want everyone to fall in love with their hometowns!"

The song lyrics for "Koko ni Shikanai Keshiki" is supposed to reflect the love that the characters have for their hometown and the cast have said themselves that the lyrics fit the mood of the movie perfectly.  The song will play during the heartwarming endroll in the hopes that it'll keep moviegoers in their seats until the end.
