Annoying Connections To Canon Characters: She's in their (Will & co's) year. Oh and she impedes on canon scenes for no good reason than to appear cooler to them (and that's only in chapter one).
Annoying Traits: She's a know-it-all, but not in that delightful Hermione way. She stands up to bullies. She gets a crush at the speed of light.

Hello, my dears. I found a particularly spectacular piece of drivel that attempted to pass itself off as fanfiction the other day, and I just HAD to spork it. I stumbled across this community a while back, lurked for a bit, laughed until I cried at some of the sporkings, then decided to post my spork!fic. Try not to have any sharp, pointy objects nearby - your eyes don't deserve it.

She’s also accompanied by her entire brood of siblings: Cole (boy, eldest), Raidon (boy), Lance (boy), and finally Dawn (girl, youngest). Phew. Talk about overkill.

Hair Color (include adjectives): I quote, “black hair with dark blue, red and green highlights to her shoulders”. Hi, can anyone say ‘fashion faux pas’? Combining hair dyes does NOT lend you a “cool” or “rebellious” air – it just makes you look like you were subjected to a Paintball firing squad.

Eye Color (include adjectives): Dark green. I suppose the cheap blue and red dye jobs bring out the lovely hue. Not.

Power(and/or powers): She’s an “Earth Witch”. What that means is that she can, and I quote again, “create and manipulate the natural elements of the Earth”. Okay, see, first of all, whenever I read sentences of this make, I always take “elements” as being, y’know, elements in the Periodic Table. For once, I’d like to read a fic where someone has control over potassium iodide. Srsly. But back to the point – she, just like most Sues we’ve seen, can do liek, omiGAWD, everything! Oh, and she can also fly. Okay, okay, so she technically manipulates wind currents to propel herself off the ground (and hopefully into the path of an oncoming bulldozer). Not surprising enough? Well, somewhere in the “plot”, Warren apparently sprouts… *cue drumroll*… dragon wings. Yep, DRAGON WINGS. I shit you not. ETA: After skimming through the following chapters (all 19 of them – ARGH!), I’ve discovered that she sings as well. Marvelously so, might I add. Whoopee.

Grade: She’s in all of Warren’s classes. Surprise.

Annoying Connections To Canon Characters: She officially appears in the story during lunch – where she proves to everyone how totally badass she is by kicking poor OOC!Warren’s butt, who just wants to sit alone at his table without it being occupied by BAMF!Sues, goddammit. To her credit, she doesn’t have any guns or katanas with her – who needs them when you can control potassium iodide the elements? She’s the offspring of some lady called Demeter (who is only liek, the most POWERFUL Earth Witch EV4R) and a man named Silver Lightning. For some reason, I feel like rearing backwards and yelling “HI HO SILVER, AWAAAAAAAY!” every time I see his name. Will & Co. make random appearances during Save The Citizen, only to have their asses handed back to them by The Brady Bunch. Oh, Lash and Speed have this thing for Dawn and try to grope her during their battles.

Annoying Traits: Breathing.

Include a section of the story: I honestly don’t know if I can steel myself for the drivel after Chapter One. But we’ll see. Maybe I’ll need a punching bag for when I feel particularly nasty. Muwahaha.

I've sporked for other fandums before but this is the first time I've done it for Sky High and I have one thing to say, This one fandum has more sues in it then my others combined.

Okay, I was about to spork this fic, but I realized it's consumed by sues:

Natasha, Keiko, Diana, Amanda, Adriana, Alexa, Terra, Madison, Katrina, Alexandra.

So it may be to big a job for one sporker. Not to mention I got distracted mid-way, and ended up focusing my ranting mood on other subjects over the phone.

This fic has it all. Mom died, dad became abusive, they're even in a band. Plus, there's unnatural hair colors galore, but apparently a few of the sue's were born with purple hair and eyes. Anyway, before I really start to rant, just check it out for yourselves.

I hope that I'm not off topic to hedge this question to you all. This is not a sporking (though god I've been laughing my ass off at the sporkings done for far XD) but rather a question of how not to get sporked.

You've all seen alot of sues, so you're the people to ask...

I'm trying to write an original character for Sky High - what do I do to keep her from becoming a Sue?

What's the most common thing you see with Sues? What Sue-ish things ruin an otherwise good original character for you? Any suggestions on what sort of powers are appropriate without being underwhelming or overblown?

Any pointers your could give me would be deeply appreciated.

Annoying Traits: so far, she's just avoidant. Further annoying traits pending... oh, and she's pear-shaped. That isn't quite as annoying as her reaction to being pear-shaped, though.

Other Marks: Ooooh, fear the cutter! Now I don't mind Evanescence but how do they feel when they're the poster child for Cutter Sues?

Power(and/or powers): Pyrokinetic. I rarely swear but this just makes my head ring with F words. Her powers even manifest the same way as Warrens's......Actually, no, she's an elemental because she can also make ice...and flies...and shapeshifts into Monty Python characters, the rabbit from Holy Grail to be exact. She also has a natural talent with wires. This is 360 degrees of WTF.

Grade: I'm unfamiliar with the American grade system, but I'll take a long shot and say that she's the same as the canon characters.

Annoying Connections To Canon Characters: She selfinserts herself into dining hall scene and goes to beat the crap out of Will. Poor Warren is a bit character whole only looks gruff and snappy for the first half, that lover *coughlustcough* boy once she gets introductions out of the way. Will is made to look like a pitiful preschooler.

Annoying Traits: Originality is in a corner, weeping pitifully while it gazes. The AN notes make me feel like shooting myself because they are just so damned pointless. Things like (MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL BITCHES) and (yay! wound! I 3 that word) just makes me yearn for a giant boot. Freak'n Warren lays his head in her lap and drifts to sleep. It's a case of Love in 60 Words. Second chapter with no lead it. My god it shits me. The character is just so obnoxious I can't see why she has so many reviews when decent writers with decent characterisation have so few. The way she swears at her mother is horrible.How can you be proud of treating someone who looks after you like that? What she obviously needed when she was a child is a good whack across the backside with a wooden spoon.

How to Improve It: Personally, I think a flamethrower. I would simply cut it lose and try again. It . But that's not helpful. I would go back and rewrite the earlier chapters with paragraphing, spelling and grammer. I would make double spacing and keep tense consistent. I'd also rewrite it so it was not a You-Fic. I would sit down and compose a character bio to make her more than just your cookie-cutter Angry-Cutting-Goth chick. I'd cut the cutting all together and tone down the swearing.

is possible to write a rounded Warren/OC fic but I've yet to see it.
