As every year, Wiki Loves Monuments in Spain, an international photographic contest about cultural heritage in the Spanish territory, will start on next September 1st. On behalf of the Wikipedia community and Wikimedia España (WM-ES), and as a participant in former editions of the event, or in other photographic contests organized by WM-ES, we'd like to encourage you to participate in the 2016 edition. We do know that you've been keen on contributing your work to the free knowledge in the past and therefore believe that you'll be glad to help us again.
We want to inform you about a substantial change in the rules of the contest: this year only images of monuments or municipalities without previous photograph in Wikimedia Commons are accepted. To facilitate hunting monuments and municipalities without a free image, we have prepared a set of specific lists, which can be checked in the contest websites: wikilov.es/monuments or wikilm.es

Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from around the world, such as folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folktales, folk games, folk religion, mythology, and many more.
The campaign invites participants to document photographs, videos, and audios linked to folk culture and fit within the contest's theme. Through this campaign, you may become a part of a community dedicated to preserving our intangible culture, which has been brought and passed down for thousands of years.
How can I Contribute?
The dates for the submission in the photography contest on Wikimedia Commons are from 1 February 2024 through 31 March 2024. Probably you are wondering how you can take part. I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
