I brought pasta in to work today in an effort not to spend obscene amounts of money on overpriced food. It was quite nice actually, spiral pasta with pecorino cheese and garlic and tomato sauce. Sometimes I prefer cold pasta to warm pasta.
I am so glad it's Friday, I am so tired! My blood test went okay on Wednesday, I'm not scared of needles or blood or anything. I watched the nurse fill up the little tubes with blood, it was quite interesting actually. I am going to go back next Friday to find out the results.
My doctor thinks I might have an underactive thyroid. Looking at this list of symptoms, it seems like the right answer to me. ( Collapse )
I hope it is this, that sounds weird, "I hope I have a life-long illness", but if it's not, it'll mean other tests and waiting to find out what it is. I have felt awful for months, and if it's this then I can start on treatment and start feeling better.
I was going to do a really long entry, but I can't remember the other stuff I was going to write!
Simon thought it would be a good idea to tell me that there's a 10 day free trial for World of Warcraft. Despite the fact it took about a million years to download, it's really good, I'm enjoying it. Which is A Big Deal because it is Not A Baby Game.
I got my work done. I got up early this morning to finish it, haha. I am functioning quite well to say that I have been awake since 5.30am!
I had the day off on Wednesday, and me and Simon went to Northampton, and we met up with Dan and Laura and Nicky. Nicky picked us up from Birmingham International station and gave us a lift, and then took us all the way home which was lovely of her. I fell asleep on the way home.
We had to wait for Laura because she was late haha, we got there earlier than she thought we would, I think. We watched some emos, so we weren't bored. Then we went to 'spoons and waited for Dan, and then we went for some food.
It was an American diner type place, and I had the most amazing burger in the world. Beefburger, bacon, cheese and GUACAMOLE. Oh my life, it was amazing. And the coleslaw was beautiful, and the chips were nice and crunchy... AND I had pecan pie. I owe Laura a big pile of food and a snog with tongues. We had a good laugh, one of the highlights was re-setting Nicky's phone's wallpaper with a picture of Dan pulling a stupid face.
i 'bought' a nintendo ds game off ebay, and it never arrived. so i emailed them, and didn't hear anything, and then i filed a dispute, still didn't hear anything, and then i was going to escalate it to a paypal claim, but whatever money they recover is subject to a "$25 processing fee". what. the. hell.
On Friday, it took me 4 hours to get home from work. The distance between my house and my office is approximately 4 miles. And I even got off the bus and walked the last half a mile, and the bus didn't even catch up with me! I was sat upstairs, but I could hear the people downstairs, and they were playing I Spy, haha. Luckily I had the foresight to bring my DS with me, so I played Animal Crossing for about 2 hours, until my eyes started hurting, haha.
I've got day & night contact lenses which can technically be left in for 30 days, but I tend to wear them for three and then wear my glasses for a day. For some reason, I haven't taken them out in the past 2 weeks and they were SO DRY when I took them out last night. And that's with liberal splashes of contact lens eye drops. It feels weird wearing glasses again.
Rachy-rach came round the other day, we had garlic chicken pizza, and it was rather delicious. The meal deal we got it with was an almighty bargain. If you just bought the xl pizza by itself, it'd cost £13.50. But for £9 we got an xl pizza, a load of potato wedges, some cheesy garlic bread, and a 1.5l bottle of Fanta. Strange.
Man, I have never really considered Stephen Fry as particularly crush-worthy (I love him though), but this icon I have makes me swoon. Now if only he wasn't gay and I wasn't engaged, there'd be no problem.
