Are you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Hi, a newbie...um, and i just want to make sure i follow the rules.

hello all list-makers. i do love lists, hence my joining this community, but i just want to make i am following the rules, traditions, general drift, of the community. having look around a but, i notice that most of the lists are about songs, which is cool, i have many song lists i could post, but is the community just based on songs, or are any kind of top 5 lists also allowed? you know:

-Top Five Movies to Watch On LSD while you're house-sitting for your friends..
-Top Five LEGAL ways you can screw with your boss and not get caught..
-Top Five ways to annoy your cat when he/she is trying to sleep (p.s. nothing painful, just annoying).
-Top Five ways to mess with an obnoxiously superior-acting environmentalist.

and other such lists...

so, are all top five lists allowed, or just music? if it's just music, that's cool, i can certainly participate, if that's ok.

Thanks! Just asking, i wanted to make sure i wasn't stepping on anyone's toes.

Top 5 most overrated songs

This isn't a list of most hated songs or anything, it's a list of those I feel are most overrated. They may or may not be good songs, but I feel they are just overrated. Feel free to post your own list! :D

1. I Will Always Love You (any and every version of this song is overrated in my book)
2. Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alabama
3. Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca (and I just have to mention that I kept trying to type "Martin" and wound up typing "Martian" over and over again, hahaha. XD)
4. T. Rex - Bang A Gong (I mean, c'mon. They've done so many much better songs that never get any recognition! It's sad!)
5. Maroon 5 - This Love

Oh yes, and I would probably have newer songs on this list if I really listened to much new stuff anymore. I've discovered from experience that if the public jizzes their pants over a new band, I'm probably not going to like the band very much if at all.

scathing/burning/wicked/vicious songs

my five favorite embittered songs that just rip your heart right out..

1) "I want you" by Elvis Costello (so good...like a punch in the face!)
2) "2:45 am" by Elliot Smith (everybody can leave Elliot alone now!)
3) "Long Snake Moan" by PJ Harvey (angry!)
4) "Stagger Lee" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (dark as hell!)
5) "Mother" by John Lennon (hot damn that boy was pissed!)

2. U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday
3. Simple Minds - Ghostdancing
4. Queen - Radio Ga Ga

My negative top 5

I just have to get this off my chest, and since this is a top 5 community I thought I could make a top 5 of the worst songs ever. At least in my opinion.
Of course, it is all subjective, and I know that these songs probably are someone elses favorite, so forgive me if I step on someone's toes...It is not personal ;)

The "I'd rather rip my pubic hair out with tweezers than listen to these songs" Top 5:

1. Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
2. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
3. James Blunt - You're Beautiful
4. Michael Jackson - Black or White
5. Mariah Carey - Emotion

There...I feel much better now...lol...
