This is an experiment.
A place for some friends to discuss ideas and possibilities behind the new Battlestar Galactica TV series. Instead of rehashing an old vehicle for special effects and kids' toys, the new series relies on a heavily serialized plot that's been allowed to evolve into a showcase for superior storytelling and character development.
Although I obviously enjoy the show immensely, I like to maintain a healthy dose of criticism. It has its ups and downs. So understand that the motivation behind creating this group was not to make it a "fan board" as much as a "discussion forum". Now I sound really anal, but I'm hoping to hear people's theories about what's really going on within the story, what they think is motivating certain characters (which may not matter in some obvious cases), and how these topics are reactions to certain aspects of our own contemporary society.
BEWARE OF SPOILERS! Expect most recent developments on the show to appear frequently in recent posts. Speculation is fine, but please don't spill details from future episodes, for instance.
Also, you might notice that a lot of members of this group are gay men. You don't have to be, but if you have issues with that, there are plenty of other BSG discussion groups out there as well. But be prepared for the occasional gay perspective if you wish to join.
