Stefan Ringer / Takuro Higuchi

The Atlanta producer Stefan Ringer links with Tokyo's own Takuro Higuchi - owner of Hachioji outlet Dotei Records - for 'R We There Yet?', a four-track split EP etching a creative friendship into fully wedged musical stone. The two met in 2023 when Ringer toured Japan, deepening their connection over a 2024 DJ tour. During a visit to Higuchi's home, Ringer encouraged him to finish tracks he'd long been struggling with, leading to Higuchi's two contributions alongside Ringer's own 'Hachioji Heartbeats' and 'Road to Shizuoka (The Lost Mix)'. The title phrase comes from the latter, referencing a long drive from Hachioji to Shizuoka and evolving into a meditation on progress, effort, and the many complected paths trodden over the course of a dance-music-loving lifetime.
