Hello there. Today I celebrate Independence Day unlike I ever have before as it means more than it ever has before.

Beyond that I think about Amercia, our society, and the government. We tend to focus on the negative and not the positive. But as much as any one of those three individually or together get it wrong, they equally get it right. That today of all days of course made me think of the beginning of the Declaration of Independence.

Reading it makes me proud to be an American as corny as that sounds, but it makes me even prouder to be a human being. They had it right in 1776 (thank you Mr. Jefferson) and those words are as relevant now as they were then. Change since then and now might go painstakingly slow and in a manner where we dont't see or recognize it at all. But we have the power and the right to change, for change, and except that change. I think we are so blinded by what we feel are the bad, injust, and outright wrongs perpertrated on us individually and collectively we often lose sight of the power and responsibility we do have.

Happy Independence Day to all of you. I hope you find the time to understand what today truly means and then take the time to enjoy yourself in whatever manner you are celebrating...grill dogs, beer, fireworks, with the ones you love. Be safe and have fun!!

What does the LJ-Like button mean in the task bar when you are doing a post? Anyone, anyone? I was just hovering over all the little icons since I don't pay much attention to it usually. I knew what they all were for except that one. Hmm.

I have been playing the video game L.A. Noire lately. It has a 40's theme which I like and there are a lot of actors I recognize in it. The main character is from Mad Men which can be a little distracting from time to time. The language in it is R rated fo sho. F this and F that. Which I have no problem with. However, when you have the volume at 37, your mom is in the vicinity and all of a sudden the coroner says, "I found an anal tear, but no semen was found in her anus" it gets a little funny uncomfortable. Lesson learned? None really, I didn't design the game. Maybe she learned the lesson...don't go out to the living room while Susan is gaming. I like that lesson.

Speaking of lessons learned, I learned earlier this week that ready doesn't mean put things together and I'm ready. Ready means Reeeaadddyy. Yes there is a big difference.

Raiders hired Dennis Allen to be the new head coach. I am underwhelmed McKenzie. Though I do like that Allen has a defensive background.

Jorge is officially retired. I knew it was coming, but I am still :( I am I am.  I am so ready for baseball!  Come on February 18th and 19th. That is when my teams pitchers and catchers first report.

Oh before I go let me tell you this... I told mom for all we know Floyd (cat) could be grandma (her mother). And said, so you better be nicer to him. Then I called Floyd Ester my moms mom name. I think she squirmed more at that thought than the anal tear. SCORE!
