well, school's back in session.

for those of you who are unaware, i just got back from mexico.
it was an amazing trip, and i had an awesome time.
in fact i wish i was back there
now mind you , this was no ordinary trip to mexico, it was a climbing trip.
none of this "cancun" or "cozamel" nonsense. we delved into the heart of mexico: Hidalgo in nuevo leon.
the trip began with a midnight ride to boston to catch the plane. from boston we flew to atlanta, where we promptly missed our connecting flight (thanks Delta!) and were re-routed to mexico city where we were to connect to monterrey. once again, we missed that flight by 5 minutes (thanks again Delta!) so we relaxed in the airport drinking cervesas and smoking cigarettes (yeah, you can do that inside in mexico) for about an hour and then caught out plane to monterrey. then we had to wait for the 10:30 delta flight from atlanta to get our baggage. well done again delta. then we caught a taxi to hidalgo which was the scariest ride of my life. finally we arrived at our camp after 24 hours of traveling. excellent.
the next week went by in a whirl of TONS of climbing, awesome mexican food, cheap beer ($1.50 a liter!) and damn good tequila.
when it was time to leave (6am cab ride to the airport) most of us were still too drunk to walk straight, so we spent the taxi ride passed out and then several hours in the airport sobering up/sleeping off the hangover
then a plane back to the us, and a quick car ride home, and i was back in my bed at 6am. another 24 hour travel day.

i can't begin to describe to you how amazing mexico was.
everyone was sooooo nice and we only had to bribe the police once.
anyway feel free to check out my pictures on facebook or ask me to show them to you sometime so you can get a full blow-by-blow account of ian's trip to mexico

today was pretty good
i should have won the intermediate category in the climbing competition, but they moved me up to advanced because i would have won by so many points...so i ended up coming in like 4th or 5th
haha
it was fun though
then i went to see skowvegas' play and got to see EMMY SPENCER!
the play was pretty good, i enjoyed it and i think most everyone else there did as well
then to eric's for a little get together...
im thinking about dropping out of school and moving out west and climbing
