Blogging

It seems I really, really much prefer blogging to using Livejournal. I think it is because it is my own webspace, and I should make an effort to keep it looking nice and pretty and full of interesting content. Sort of. In saying this, this journal can be considered over, if it was not considered over prior to this statement.. I'll continue to check my Friends List and comment, sometimes, maybe. I'm not even sure where this entry will appear on people's Friend's Lists, if appear on any Lists at all, but for continuity's sake, here is where you'll be able to find me in the future, with more interesting things to say than I ever wrote here: http://www.claudyclem.blogspot.com

Good luck, and farewell. Hope to see you on the other side.

Another post... ?

Why hello there! Fancy seeing you here. Do you come here often?

Hey.

A new post for I am bored. I have a horrid headache and tummy ache and the sun is blazing hot through my window. Gah. I just had the most amazing trip to Lidl. Because I bought everything I need for about 2 weeks for £5.61! How awesome is that? I got an aubergine for 23p! TWENTY THREE PEE! I know it's not very exciting but my life currently isn't very exciting.

I just finished another essay, which just needs a tweak here and there and I'm giving myself an hours break before I start making way with the next one. God, how boring.

I'm really upset because it was Matt's birthday yesterday and Gilly was throwing a mini surprise party that their friend and Ben went to and I was invited but had to stay stupid here to do stupid work, and they're having an awesome time and I want to be having an awesome time! But I'm glad they're having fun, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing many photos!

Some girl is squealing outside. I want to cause her serious pain. Silly bint.

Right, toodle oo!

Anyhoo, I have news! I got accepted by London South Bank University to do a Masters in Planning Policy and Practice, which is accredited by the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute)! And there's the opportunity for me to apply for a bursary which would help me out a lot with paying for the whole thing! It's quite exciting! I've been looking up the modules for the course and the accommodation and facilities available! I really am quite excited. I haven't accepted yet as I'm going to talk it through with my parents and take their opinions and concerns on board, (however, I'm still doing that course and going to London whatever they say!) and look into the bursary more and the qualification it will get me! But hooray! I got the university that I wanted to go to accepting me! It really made me happy. It was sweet, Gemma came upstairs with the envelope and was like "I thought this might be important!" and then Ben asked me if I wanted him to open it, and I didn't and just left it for a minute and then I was brave enough to open it and I got in! Hoopla!

I have such a busy 6 weeks coming up! I'm going to Birmingham tomorrow to see my parents as I haven't seen them for about 6 weeks, and I'm staying in Birmingham for a week because it's my birthday on Tuesday! I'll be reaching the grand old age of 21 and I imagine it will be quite an event. I'm going to be busy in Birmingham, seeing Jessi over the weekend, and spending time with my family and possibly meeting Gilly next week, if we can manage it. Then, next Thursday, I'm coming back to Cardiff for a sort of mini birthday event here, and then the following day I'm off to London for an adventure weekend with Ben! The following weekend I'm not doing much, however the weekend of the 16th I'm going to Hull to see Jessi! Which I'm sooooo excited about, despite the complete travel time of 15 HOURS! The weekend after that Ben and I are going to visit Matt and Gilly, and then the weekend after that I'm off to Istanbul for a field study visit with my university course, which I'm really looking forward to because it's ISTANBUL! Eeee!

I better go and do something more productive now! Bye!

Hello one, hello all

Alright chaps?
It is now September and three weeks until I go back to univewrsity. Which is an undetermined thing as I have not yet recieved any confirmation of my financial status from the studemt loans company. I really do detest the student loans company. They're ridiculous. Why can they never give you a straight answer!? And why can they never understand your secret answer! I have a feeling that I'm only going to be temporarily enrolled, which worries me. I'm rather a good worrier so it just gives me something of substance to have concerns about for once! Other than that, I'm quitting my job as it's shit and am going to focus on trying to do better at university and help Mom and Dad out at the restaurant. Next summer, I'm hoping I'll be on my way to getting a real grown up job. Hopefully. Or at least a nice cushy receptionist job before I do my Masters.
Other things that have occured.... de de dee! Mostly summery things. Visiting pals in London, hanging out with Jazzy Jess, catching up with old friends... I went to a festival in London with Owen and Kirsty which was a lot of fun. I had the tastiest pie there ever. I also saw The Pipettes, Buzzcocks, British Sea Power and Graham Coxon. They were all great. Also, I saw Babyshambles and Lily Allen who were both exceptionally impressive. Not what I went to see but saw for the experience and they were wholly surprising. I even LIKE Babyshambles now! Aha, I can mention that in my dissertation... going to see a band I don't necessarily like for the experience. Hum, yes.
Ben and I went to Memorabilia last month with Gillian and Matthew and that was lots of fun. We had plenty of fun animated chattings and got free goody bags with Sonic the Hedgehog posters in! I bought shedloads of stuff, including a briliiant robotic Homer and a robotic Nibbler. I also got my very own Doctor of Doctor Who fame. Granted, he is only 6 inches tall but still. They're all waiting to claim residence in my Cardiff home.
I've had my hair cut. It's all neat now and a bit grown up. Not excessively so however still an obvious difference. Nice though. It's the first step on the way to getting a super short, super sleek razor cut bob. That will be fun. And different. And make me feel a bit like I'm bald. But still. Will be nice. I think.
That's all I have to say. However. Don't you think it's odd that people disregard you once they know that you're not as valuable to them as you initially thought? They sort of just give up and move on to paying attention to someone else. No matter what sort of relationship you had. Very odd. Why do you think that is? Some strange element of human nature to not give a fuck once you know that they can't do you any favours. I've witnessed in 2 people in the last week. Quite disconcerting, that.
I go now, in order to nurse my damaged leg and listen to more Bright Eyes.

Work work work

That's my life. Worky work work. Good lord. 8 assessments in 4 weeks is quite excessive, don't you think? I know everyone's in the same boat as it's the end of the year and prime time for being assessed but I have an outlet for complaining! Therefore I shall! I'm working on my final assessment right now. Well... I say working... I'm really sort of avoiding working on it. Because it's quite hard and shitloads more work has to be done before I can actually type it up and all that jazz. It's all about my dissertation which is turning out to be harder than I initially anticipated. Stupid lecturers.. "Oh, yeah. It's a really great idea. It'll be great. Go on, do it!" Grr... Anyhoo, I shall crack on with that and it'll be done by Wednesday and then Ben and Will shall come and visit me and we'll play frisbee in the park!

So, that's what's upcoming. Fun visits from fun peoples. We're going to go see Slither and go to the castle and show Will all around Cardiff and I'm going to get wrecked. WRECKED. As I haven't for a while and I could do with a few drinkies. Also, it's my friend Julia's birthday on Thursday and she's having a barbecue party at some point which should be huge amounts of fun. I'm looking forward to that, with all the burnt burgers and such things.

Last weekend Jessi visited me and it was super! I was ill for part of it as I was just getting over a nasty stomach bug, but that's gone now. Oooh, it was nasty. I had to go to the doctor's and everything but it was quite fun as lovely Neal took me and we had a chat. Anyway, Jessi visited! I showed her around Cardiff and we went to see Dylan Moran, which was disappointing but still - DYLAN MORAN! With all his sexiness and Irishness and OOOOOH. And we had sleepover fun. Which is a private matter... hehehe! But it was good! I enjoyed it muchly, and she did too I think. I'm going to visit her in Hell, oops, sorry, HULL later on in the year. Just to see what it's all about. Should be fun.

Diddly dee... What else has been going on? Nothing much. Just working like a motherbitch to get all this work done on time and to a half decent standard. Which I'm not too sure I've achieved but oh, well. Can only try!

Okay, that's it. I have to be getting on with this yucky worky thing.

Toodle oo, all.

Boosh!

Boosh Boosh Boosh!

Saw them for the third time last night in Cardiff. They were so fricking amazing! It just gets better every time I see it! They're just so good! They mess up and just keep on going with the mess ups! How many comedic geniuses (genii, if you will) can do that?! It was fabbo. Kaz and I dressed up, electro-tastically! We met a lovely girl called Louise who came on her own and she became our Boosh pal and we sold our spare aftershow ticket to her! Aw, the aftershow! That was just amazing! I'd never seen Robots in Disguise before! They were so good! Running around the stage like little rock stars on speed! G-I-R-L-GIRL! So good! The boys weren't there but it was just so great! And everyone was so nice there! Just chatted to everyone! It was great! I had my Jessi-made t-shirt admired throughout the evening! And I bought a green electro t-shirt, and a Robots in Disguise bag! Fabbo! I bumped into a guy on my course at the Boosh show! I was pleasantly surprised! Anyhow, it was great. Great great great!

Anyway, hi.

Uni's going alright. Loads of work to do at the moment but it is uni. I'm just going to work my arse off over the next 2 weeks before Easter to get it all done. I'll be alright. I have 2 weeks to do one essay. 1 day to sort out a group presentation and 1 week to sort out a group report. It'll be fine. I've done that sort of thing in less time.

I've also decided what I'm doing for my dissertation and have had approval from the module leader. I'm doing it on the space of cinema and how people's social attitudes and behaviour construct it into a place. You know, the atmosphere, the connotations, the opinions and feelings, acceptable behaviour? Are there two different codes of conduct for different types of cinema, such as mainstream and independant? It's going to be so much fun! And it'll set me up for what I want to do in my career of cultural something-or-other!

Went to Prague for a few days. That was excellent. Snowy. Cold. But fabulously lovely! It was great! Had so much fun.

That's all I have to say.

Ta ra.

Hello

It's tragic how this is the first time I've updated this since May... What can I say, I have a super duper busy life! I really should be researching feminism for my essay but let's pretend that my essay just doesn't exist...

So, I've been busy... You know, with uni and all. Currently living in a lovely house in the centre of Cathays. It's excellent and better than all of my other friends houses! Yay us! I'm doing okay in my degree still. Class debate tomorrow and big ass piece of coursework due in on Friday of which I am halfway through... I'll be fine... And then hometime for Christmas! Wooo! Having our house Christmas on Wednesday, starting off with Christmas dinner, followed by a trip to Winter Wonderland and ice-skating/mulled wine combo... I may just go for the mulled wine... Joy!

Done many many funtastic things recently, such as going to see the Mighty Boosh in Islington, and being just 20feet away from their sexy magnificence.. Lord! Also went to see A Journey's End at the new Ambassador in Leicester Square and Guys and Dolls at Picadilly... Yes, I have been in the same room as Ewan Mcgregor, breathing the same recirculated air! Score! Also went to the US for 3 weeks ver the summer. That was fun, and busy and expensive but super duper fun and memorable!

I really need to get back to this essay research... But I promise to update again relatively soon, for anyone who has the slightest interest in my life.

Ciao xxx

I'm so tired. I'm sitting in a computer room at uni. It's almost 3am. Gwyneth & I still haven't completed our coursework and our dear friend Gemma is distraught because her boyfriend's a shit. Agh, the life of a crazy, unorganised student.

In other news, I was in Geneva last week, for the whole week! Which was great and mucho fun.

Vertigo by U2

"The night is full of holes
Those bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll"

In 2004 you partied so hard... you forgot how to count.

That's pretty cool.

Helloooooo everybody! How do you all? My lecture has been cancelled, my flat is a 20 minute walk away & it is extremely wet outside! Therefore, I'm updating my LJ for the first time in a month or so! Sure you all missed me terribly!

Not a lot's happened recently... Sorted out the house for next year. Tis nice, good location. Very pretty. Ben approves of it! Had my exams which went okay, I think. Got my coursework back on which I got 78%! Whoo hoo!

And, uh, oh yeah! Booked my flights to America! That was veeeery exciting! Gemma & I are going to fly to New York from Heathrow on September 3rd and then return on September 25th! Three whole weeks in America! With Gwyneth! Yay! We're going to New York, and Washington DC and Niagra Falls... so many things! Eeee! It's exciting! Bit of a drain on the pocket but you don't get many opportunities to go to America, free accommodation in numerous places with a native tour guide! Wow! :D The only downside is I miss my Dad's birthday & Stacey's birthday, but I do promise to get them very nice things from America!! Promise promise!

Enough of that, I'll over-stimulate myself. I got home at 2am this morning. My lecture was meant to be at 9. But it wasn't. I could have been in bed until 11 this morning but nooooo. 7:45am. Lovely stuff. Now I know I can get to lectures on time, methinks I'll be frequenting Clwb Ifor Bach much more! Last night was great! Tequila is goooood! And cheap! So, obviously v poor quality but that's goooood shit. Theme at Clwb Ifor Bach was "Popscene" although it was in fact funk, soul & motown with a little hip hop thrown in downstairs & alternative rock/electronica upstairs... a veeeeery good mix! My legs hurt from dancing too much though! And my elbow hurts from stabbing it with a drawing pin. Accidentally, i should add! Anyhow, was a great night! I'd like to take Ben but he'd hate it. He's coming tonight to visit me for the Valentine's day weekend! I have work to do & lectures to go to but oh well! Sure I'll find time for it all!

I best be off as I'm going underwear shopping & need to write Ben's Valentine's card, as I doubt he'll be impressed with an empty card!

Bye bye, my peepies! xxx
