I really need to get back on Livejournal. Tumblr is great, but it's a better atmosphere here. On tumblr if you try to give details about your personal life, you better get ready to be called attention seeking. Anyway, here's what you missed on Max's life.

MUSIC SPAM TIME

LIGHTS - Siberia 
The new album from LIGHTS. It's a lot grittier than the Listening was, a lot of new influences. There's some dubstep, some collaborations, a terrific sound. She's really evolved. I love this album so much. 

Florence + the Machine - Ceremonials 
The new album from Florence is just as amazing as Lungs was. Much like LIGHTS, she has evolved her sound, while retaining her roots. A lot of beautiful lyrics. 

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles I
These guys are an experimental electronica band out of Toronto. They have a very interesting sound, and I find their music is really good for writing. Their music kind of takes you away to far away lands.

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles II
Their second album. I prefer this one. LIGHTS' Siberia takes a few queues from these guys, especially this album. It's very dirty electronica. I love it.

Julien-K - Death to Analogue
Speaking of dirty electronica, Julien-K is my go to sexy techno these days. It's the side project of a few members from Orgy, another terrific band. Death to Analogue is great grind techno. 

Julien-K - Death to Digital
This is the remix album of Death to Analogue. A lot of really fun remixes. 

Kim Petras - One Piece of Tape
You may recognize Kim Petras as one of the youngest people to undergo a sex change. She is an absolutely darling pop artist from Germany, and this is her first EP. 

Knife Party - 100% No Modern Talking
Knife Party is an electro-house band composed of some of the original members of Pendulum. This EP dropped today, but from their mix tape, it is damn worth it. 

Knife Party - Mix Tape
This is the very first sampler from Knife Party and it is fun. A lot of really good dancey sounds, a lot of ear worm techno. 

OneRepublic - Wake Up
Stepping away from the house and electronica for a moment, these guys are a pop rock band worth having a listen to. I don't listen to the radio, so I'm not sure how much air play they get, but a few of their songs have gotten into movies, most recently The Sorcerers Apprentice. 

Holy Fuck - Latin 
Holy Fuck is another electronica band out of Toronto. They collaborated with LIGHTS for some of Siberia. They have a really great sound. They're quite experimental as well, using unconventional things to make their music, not just instruments and music mixers. 

Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea
I love these guys. So much. They have such a cool sound. Another electronica band, really catchy, really dancey, I love love love throwing them on when I go walking. Terrific beat.

Alice in Videoland - A million thoughts and they're all about you
These guys are an electroclash band from Sweden. They've consistently put out good music, and this album does not disappoint. Very quality stuff, also pretty dancey, with really good lyrics. 

The Sounds - Something to die for
Another band from Sweden, The Sounds are an indie rock band. There are a few really terrific songs on this, and the frontwoman, Maja, has a really unique voice that I love listening to.

Summary: It started, like most things do, when Sam had a dream.

Cut to Fic

Written for a friend who wanted crossover fic with Jack as a missing Winchester brother.

1.Never stop thinking. This is important. If someone ever says to you ‘You need to stop thinking so much,’ call them ignorant in your head and keep thinking deeper. It is this mentality that breeds stupidity and sheeple. Your mind is the most important tool you have, if you stop using it, it will atrophy. Question everything.

2. Stare into space blankly and don’t mentally punish yourself for doing it, even if it is for that split second. If you have a problem with staring blankly, think of it as daydreaming.

3. Root Beer sucks after having spicy food.

4. Everything is going to be just fine. If you worry about acne, you’re going to get a fucking pimple.

5. Don’t be afraid to talk about anything. You shouldn’t be afraid of reality.

6. Everyone is a hypocrite.

7. You are all original. Every life experience is case sensitive and unique. Every time you wake up or go to the bathroom or quote someone else, you are becoming more you than anyone has ever been.

8. Do pointless things. Don’t actively restrain or hide yourself from the redundant.

9. Stop rushing. Shut up and embrace the sound of silence.

10. Religion shouldn’t be taught, it should be found. No one should tell you what to believe except you. And while were on the subject…

11. Don’t be restrained by one religion. People change every moment of everyday. Minds grow and evolve. Religion has no law so feel free to mix and match. Make your own.

12. Going to the bathroom is not a right nor a privilege. it’s an act of nature.

13. Talking to yourself is healthy. Is there anyone that you have more in common with?

14. There is no such thing as time. The sun never sets or rises. Days and years don’t exist. There is only your life. Earlier today you were born and death is predicted later in the evening.

15. We will always be in a transitional phase. Look outside and know that everything will be replaced at some point. This existence is temporary.

16. Its not half empty or half full. Its half a glass.

17. Every now and then take something that you see everyday and try to see it in a different light. Renew its existence.
