Birthday and Vids Meme
My birthday party didn't turn out quite as planned. Apparently the place serves only brunch until 5pm on Sundays, which the website did not make clear, so we got there to learn it would be $50 per person and that was a bit much for me to pay for a waffle and some salad (an all-you-can-eat buffet is pointless when there's nothing on it I can eat). So we did get to look down on the roof of the White House for a minute and then traipsed off to Dupont Circle for a sushi happy hour. I would like to try again someday, though, at a non-brunch time. This Saturday? Next Saturday? Before it gets too cold. There was also the Takoma Park Street Festival right outside our front door. I like it when a city celebrates my birthday.

Day 5 - A vid everyone should see at least once
I don't really believe in the "you must! you ought!" cult of art consumption, so my choices here are more on an academic/historical note.
Both Sides Now by Kandy Fong (Star Trek TOS, Spock) - This is generally acknowledged to be the first fan music vid ever, made in 1975 using slide projectors. So vids are older than me. They're as old as punk rock. They certainly weren't invented on YouTube or by machinima dudes.
Pressure by Sterling Eidolan and The Odd Woman Out/California Crew (vidding meta) - This isn't available online anymore due to privacy concerns, which is too bad. It's from about 1990 and it's a metavid that uses footage of the vidders making a Quantum Leap vid using VCRs. Not computers, not professional editing machines, freaking home VCRs, yo. That's how they did it in the old skool and it looks like lots of hard work.

Day 6 - A vid you've watched at least ten times
If I've watched a vid ONLY ten times it's either brand new to me or I don't like it. How many times have you listened to your favorite songs? That's how often I've watched my favorite vids. Hundreds of times. I don't tend to re-read fic, but I re-watch vids over and over and over. So I'm not actually going to link to anything for this question. You can just trust that if I'm including a vid in this meme at all, I've almost certainly watched it way more than a mere and measly ten times.
Day 7 - A constructed reality/crossover vid you love
