I have indeed confirmed for myself once again that spite is my greatest motivator because I have most of the outline for my s8 'fix it' fic. I use that term with the broadest of strokes because it is not kind to anyone and I am very very very angry.
broad strokes: borrowing from destiny & destiny 2 there are people who are called Guardians who are brought back from the dead to defend 'the light' (term very flexible and broadly defined) against various and sundry threats. Guardians do not remember the live prior to the first time they were brought back to life. They never remember. There is no mechanic to bring back those memories--they are gone.
Allura, Adam and Narti come back from the dead as Guardians.
Only they come back centuries after the entirety of intergalactic civilization fell because the rifts never really closed. Assuming the death of an innocent girl, no matter how much society has been indoctrinated to believe it, did not in fact solve the problem. Instead it merely left the universe vulnerable to creatures from the out dark (yay! Hive & all their creepy & fucked up logic) to come in and take it all apart.
Story follows Allura, Adam & Narti running around as a fire team being Guardians doing as you do and periodically finding letters, stories, file extracts from pre-Collapse detailing how the Paladins & MFEs died.
And because I am a petty, hateful bitch imma tag it 'sheith' and 'fix it' because it will be sheith (sorta) and it does fix things.
For me.

Everything else is because I'm fucking tired of wading through 'fix it' fics that are either sheith or klance with varying degrees of glee that Allura is dead because fandom has decided to just spread out its misogynoir and roll around in it like a dog that's found something dead and rotting.

If it makes you feel any better, in my attempt to fix things I am filtering everything through Lance POV because I don't want it to be "fix Sheith!" with the Allura fix as an afterthought. I want it to be "Fix Allura!" with the sheith fixit as second fiddle. Because I love my codependent babies but in the grand scheme of things, what they did to Allura was the unforgivable thing.

*makes grab hands* give it to me. I am so fucking tired wading through fix it fics that do no such thing.
You know what fandom reminds me of right now? GW and it's treatment of Relena. And we all know how well I tolerated that.
