I am so fucking pissed off with season 8 of vld that I can't even begin to articulate the sheer depths of my rage.

Just let it be known that if you come to me and try to tell me that 1) Allura deserved to die 2) that this was somehow good character development for her or Lance, or 3) to whine about how the true injustice was how your favorite gay couple weren't canon I will dedicated an unhealthy amount of time to trying to figure out how to slap you with my publications list through the internet.

Gods fucking dammit. It'd be nice if for just once the brown girl didn't have to die so the yt faves were all safe and happy. Just once. We die all the time in the real world. For once just let us have the fairytale ending.

i feel the hell out of you. Allura's story has become more and more infuriating as the seasons rolled out. They took everything from her, they broke down her aspirations and hopes and dreams, they gave her a love interest that they tore from her in the most traumatic, brutal way possible, and then they took her away from her fans.

i'm so furious that the EPs took something that set its initial tone as triumphant and optimistic and turned it into a gruesome tragedy for so many of its characters and fans. i think more than anything i just feel disgusted with this season.

yeah, it's pure ethnocentric blindness based on new hipster values-- farming is an idyllic lifestyle away from the stresses of everyday life, who WOULDN'T call that a happy ending?? like there were (minimal) efforts to show their culture's influence on their characters, but they're still basically brownwashed-- they act and talk like young white professionals a lot because the young white professionals who wrote them couldn't fucking look outside their own experiences or incorporate other perspectives to figure out the full implications of the story they were writing.

but hey it's vld, what else is new?
