A special ghost tour has been arranged for the convenience of Chicon 7 members at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 30th. This time we'll be taking a bus and meeting at the Hyatt. Two of our closest friends have just announced their engagement. Unfortunately, their wedding is smack in the middle of chicon7, so I have one attending adult membership for sale. Currently an attending membership is going for $195. I'll let anyone have it for $150, or send me your best offer, as I will definitely not be able to attend. Chicon 7 invites everyone at SFContario to join us Saturday night for the first-ever "All Worldcons, All the Time Bheer Tasting."

The two upcoming Worldcons -- Renovation in 2011 and Chicon 7 in 2012 -- are joined by 6 real Worldcon bids, 3 hoax bids, and 18 past Worldcons, as well the Time Travel Worldcon. We'll be tasting bheer from around the world, focusing on offerings from the cities where the sponsoring conventions are, were, will be, or hope to be (in the case of the bids). That's 30 fannish groups all together, all working past, present, and future on the wonder that is fandom's annual family reunion and celebration of all things science fictional.

The party starts at 10pm in room 309. In addition to a remarkable variety of alcohol-infused brews, we'll also be tasting at least 6 varieties of ginger bheer, and 4 varieties of root bheer. Rumour has it there may be some spruce bheer, though birch bheer has been particularly elusive this past week....
