Gotta help someone catch a break!

babytoaster made me do it....and I was very happy to!

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. Pre-Order Here!

Research Subjects Needed....

Hello, please remove this post if it is unwanted, but I thought I would post this information here for a colleague of mine.

Whom It May Concern:

Hello—I am Dr. Erin Sahlstein, a Communication and Relationships Researcher at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Department of Communication Studies. I am currently seeking participants for a study about deployment and communication. I need folks who are married and in the military (i.e., the service member AND/OR their spouse) who have recently experienced a deployment (i.e., within the last 12 months). Participants need to have been married at the time of the deployment and be at least 18 years of age.

If you are interested or know of anyone who might be interested in participating in my research, please have them either follow the link below or they can contact me with their questions (erin.sahlstein@unlv.edu, or 702.895.3640). Participants who complete the survey will be offered the opportunity to submit their name for a drawing. I am offering $100.00 gift certificates to three winners who will be contacted in May.

This research has been approved through the UNLV Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects committee. If you would like to report any questions or concerns to this office, please call the UNLV Office for the Protection of Research Subjects at 702.895.2794.

If you are interested in participating, please go to the link below. It will first take you to a page regarding your rights as a research participant and your potential involvement in this study. Once you read the material and consent to participation, then you will be taken to the survey.

Content Analysis

This site is going to be the subject of my interpersonal communication content analysis this summer. It's sad really how stupid some people are.

Almost there....

Aidan is going to be 1 on Friday! My baby is growing up so fast :o) I am going to post some pics of him in a few days-I just have a lot on my plate at school right now. In the mean time does anyone have any advice/insight as to how this next year play out? I have a 1 year old! How did that happen!!! Don't answer that :o)

Two Pink Lines

I had the faintest of faint second pink line on my customary pregnancy test for the new round of birth control. I took a second test and it was negative. I'm freaking out....just a little. I am going to take a digital test this weekend.

I have to say, things around here has been CRAZY! Between school, work, and family I have not had much time to do much of anything (but don't worry I have been doing my best to keep up with all of you!) Kris has been working his butt off! He managed to get one day off last week! When he was not at Nevada Color he was at the Apple Store. I worry for him, but he assures me every night that he is fine, happy, and loving every minute of his extra curricular job. I have to say that a paycheck every week is nice, but I would love to see my husband a little more than just a few moments a day.

School is going really well! I take my comps in March, but I think I might have already stated that. May will come fast, and lets hope that I pass my comps so that I can walk at graduation. I will still be 3 credits short...but I will finish those off over the summer. I seriously don't know what I will do with this degree. I am not certain if I want to continue teaching college, it's a subject of much stress in my life. I love college students, but when a student can't figure out how to give a speech on the first amendment in relation to NAMBLA then they are seriously lacking higher thinking skills! Only three more weeks and then I get a small break, just what I need :o)

Last night we were coming home from Don and Renee's and Kris informed me what he wants to do for his birthday. Poor guy is having a hard time with the whole 30 thing, so he wants to exit his 20's by pretending he is 21 again. I will see what I can do. I offered to send him to MN to be with his friends up there, but he declined. He is hoping they will come here....I will see what I can pull out of my bag of tricks to make that happen-thus far it's not looking too great.

Thanksgiving came and went without much excitement. We had a friend over for some ham and such, it was good to see them after a few weeks of no contact! Seriously need to get better at picking up the phone and calling people. Regardless it was a nice, quiet evening, minus the ear infection drama that ensued throughout the day.

Friday I ended up going out with a few momma friends! It was so nice to get out of the house, and be away from snot. I was only gone for a little bit, but it was so worth it to come home to a smile from Aidan. Poor man is still feeling under the weather! I have to take him to the daycare tomorrow, and I am not really happy about that. He is not eating that much, and is mainly just tired and wants to be held. He will get lots of love at the daycare, but will NOT get the sleep needed to feel better. Right now he is babbling in his bed. I get him to sleep, and then as soon as I lay him in his bed he wakes up and cries. Thankfully its died down to a babble, which means sleep is just around the corner.

This week should be somewhat fun. I have a bunch of things to get done such as: write a 15 page paper, clean the house, get Aidan to the pediatrician for another shot, pay some bills, do some Christmas shopping, bake cookies, and I think get a picture with Santa later this weekend. I am going to be baking lots of Christmas cookies, watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas music on Saturday (consider it a reward for getting my semester work all completed)-if you are in the area stop on over, decorate a cookie....and eat it!

Thats about it for now. I must get at least 5 pages written tonight! I will get 5 pages written tonight!!! I will also be making the friends cut that I mentioned last week tonight too. For some reason I am thinking that there are some people out there that don't want to deal with my momma ramblings...which is totally fine! That and I am thinking of going friends only. I saw a freaky CSI about identity theft that ended in kidnapping, it scared the bejeebers out of my. I dislike voyeurs, and generally do not associate with them either. So unless you let me know you wanted to stay, you will be cut. I also feel as though there are some things in my life that need to be put to rest, a cleansing if you will. Just let me know if you want back in!

Take care of yourselves everyone! Have a marvelous night, and if this is the last time I speak to you (because you are sick of my momma ramblings) have a marvelous life, be blessed and be happy always!
