This would be terrible for me because I normally only half-listen when people talk. So they'd be privvy to me thinking, "Did I forget to turn my flatiron off? How many calories were in that bagel I had this morning? Man I could really use a pedicure. I wonder what's on tv tonight. Oh man that guy has an aweeeesome ass over there. I wonder what he's like in bed. I'm just going to picture him naked. Oh crap what is this person talking about? Just nod. Just stare and nod and half-smile." while they were telling me some story about their weekend.
IN summation: I would have no friends and everyone would realize how often I think about random people being naked.
Do you ever call friends or use the Internet when flying or do you use airplane time as an opportunity to unwind, read, or talk to strangers? How do you usually pass the time when you’re in the air?
I am going to say this right now and I'm sorry if you're one of those nice people from some random state that thinks it's suuuuuppperrr aweeeeeesssooommee to talk to strangers but PLEASE do not talk to strangers on an airplane. Because then we feel obligated to continue talking to you throughout the whole flight EVEN THOUGH all we want to do is put our headphones on and finish reading our book or our crossword puzzle. Or on a super long flight, take our Xanax and pass the fuck out.
I've been being more conscious about what I'm putting into my body and I've been trying to work more fresh veggies into my diet. I found this really great recipe and I wanted to share it!
Vegetable Panini a la George Foreman Grill
1 medium red pepper 6 asparagus a bunch of mushrooms (you can cut them yourself or buy the pre-sliced) 2 slices of light italian bread (you can substitute rice bread for it to be gluten free but that adds another 120 calories or so) 1 wedge of light spreadable swiss cheese
So you lightly spray the George Foreman with PAM. I use the olive oil one. Let it heat up to 300'F. While it's heating up cut off the woody part of the asparagus and cut up your pepper so that it's fairly flat. Place the asparagus and pepper on the grill and grill for a couple of minutes. Take them off then place your mushrooms on and grill. Then you take your wedge of light spreadable swiss cheese and you spread it over your bread. Place the veggies between the two slices with the cheese facing inward and then place the whole sandwich in your grill. Press softly for about a minute and VOILA! Super healthy veggie sandwich that takes 15 mins max. (Truth be told I cheated and had two of these last night because it was so yummy.)
If anyone else has any recipes they want to share, please do. :)
