catwalksaloneI do not have a bucket list. But if I did have a bucket list, I would have ticked a thing off on Friday because me and Colleague J went to see a recording of RHLSTP, Richard Herring's Not-Leicester Square Podcast what with it being on tour and that. We were lucky enough to see him interview Dave Johns, long-time stand-up comedian and star of I, Daniel Blake, who is one of the funniest men alive, it turns out. So not so much interviewing as setting Dave going and laughing along with the audience at the results. My ribs literally hurt the next day from how much I'd laughed. And all that and home by 8:30 to spend the rest of the evening with the boy who'd had a pretty hard day. Nice.
(Saw my would-be-date in passing at the library earlier in the day, but he whizzed past at top speed and didn't stick around. I hope he's okay!)
Up early this morning to do a thing withleanwellback and R, where we met a ghost. At least, we're pretty sure he's a ghost. He appeared from nowhere not once, but twice, in a mostly deserted building at the exact time we needed some gentle pushing in the right direction. "You'd think if you had to spend eternity in one outfit you wouldn't've picked that coat," leanwellback said. He had a point.
Still don't get why seahorses = river god though, although I didn't even know that part until R told me. I am not good at my own city, is what I'm saying.
We took the two of them for breakfast and horrified them with the TB petrol story (long story short: as a younger person, TB was so drunk he thought filling up his cider bottle with the dregs of petrol from a pump and drinking it was a good plan. He then thought that the next logical step was to light a cigarette. Yep. Reader, I married him. Sigh. Anyway, his then girlfriend and brother both did a slo-mo leap at him before he managed to turn himself into his own fuse. I love him. Why, I do not know. :D ) Things I like: watching my friend be happy and spending more time with the person who has made that happen. I wish to draw hearts all around them both, the wonderful pair. <3333333333333
I am now caught up on Ru Paul's Drag Race UK and am rapidly approaching BEC status with Cheryl Hole, which probably means she's going to win because that is how life rolls. (Vinegar Strokes, be my BFF.) It's cool watching our UK queens doing their thing in a US format. It's a bit of a clash of cultures. Like, probably lip-syncing is happening more here now because of the Drag Race's ubiquity, but it's not historically us. Also hilarious is watching Ru Paul being very confused by UK slang ("Would the people at home know what 'gob' means?" Yes, Ru. Yes, they will.). Keep it up, queens!
