Neko strikes again

I'm not sure about how these are determined on Catster, but Neko's made it to TODAY'S PICK and was featured a few days ago as such, too. Is this a random occurrance (if anyone knows) or is it determined by something? What are these rosettes I see in some cat profiles?

Meanwhile, Neko encountered a cicada last week and didn't like how I handled the situation...

CP: Looking for a new kitty?

I know some who really, really deserve a home. They're in Tennessee, but I'm sure someway or another, they could get home to anyone who could offer them a good life. Here's the story (don't stop me if you've heard this one...I'm all pumped up to help, somehow. ;o)

So. There was this rescue called Angle Wings. It went really, really wrong somewhere, and a few devoted, caring people managed to get them busted. Over 140 animals, living in deplorable conditions, and countless dead were eventually removed from the facilities...you can read more about that here. There are also pictures, if you want to see them...just use discretion, because they're heart breaking. Anyway, 99 of the animals were cats.

Many of these cats (75 of them, I think?), are still looking for good homes. You can view the information about the shelter who's housing them here, and you can view their adoptable pet list here.

Please...if you're looking for a new baby, and they have one that would fit the bill, would you consider adopting from them? If they don't, would you consider passing the information on to your friends and family who might be interested??

These cats have had a really sucky time of it, until June when they were rescued. It'd be awesome if we could all work together to find them great homes.
