Chula Vista, Oregon style

Here's Chula, with the view of Mt. Hood from the Japanese Gardens in Portland.

Cousin Bruce was in town for a conference, but he had a free afternoon so I took him sightseeing . .  including stops at the Portland Rose Garden, the Japanese Gardens and Yamhill County (for some wine tasting at Laurel Ridge Winery).  Like almost everyone else, he got into the sock monkey spirit:

Chula photos

Chula had a busy weekend, getting out both days for some sightseeing.   On Saturday, he was photographed in Waterfront Park, along the Willamette River in downtown Portland.  He saw the the Navy ships that had dropped anchor along the park river wall as part of the Portland Rose Festival.  On Sunday morning, he got some eyebrows.  Subtle difference, but his face seems so much more expressive now.  Then he went to see some beautiful flower gardens in Marion County, Oregon (near Salem).  After going to the Tulip Festival in April he's been hankering to get out among the flowers again. . .   I've posted Chula's most recent photos, and others, on my flickr page.  (We're getting ready and practicing for all those photos in Europe this summer!)  www.flickr.com/photos/catfuzz

Eastern Oregon

So, I had to drive to Ontario, Oregon yesterday for a Department of Environmental Quality hearing today.  Where's Ontario, Oregon, you ask?  Its not the end of the world, but its close.  Ontario is on the eastern end of Oregon, just steps from the Idaho border.  About 380 miles from Portland.  What was the DEQ hearing about, you ask?  A septic system that was leaking untreated waste onto neighboring property, and repairs that were done without a permit and contrary to the DEQ's standards.  Unfortunately, the property owner (like the neighboring property) is in deep do-do, and he's going to have to un-do, then re-do, the septic system.

The good news, the hearing got out early enough so I had a chance for some sightseeing and photo shooting.  Check out Chula at the Far Eastern Oregon State Capital Building in Adrian, Oregon:

Adrian is about 22 miles south of Ontario.  It wasn't the ideal day for shooting rural landscapes, but I found some interesting things along the way, which I've posted to my flickr page.

Wienermobile

Tigard, Oregon, Lamb's Thriftway market.  It was there and I had my camera . . . Also scored a wiener dog whistle and an "I saw it" sticker.

The key to your soul . . . in five easy questions!

***What Your Soul Really Looks Like***

You are quite expressive and thoughtful. You see the world in a way that others are blind to.

You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you're head is in the clouds.

You see yourself with pretty objective eyes. How you view yourself is almost exactly how other people view you.

Your near future is likely to be filled with great successes and accomplishments. You just need to figure out how to get there.

For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn't fall in love with someone you didn't trust.
