Ideal for naturalising in a meadow, Camassia quamash (camas, bear's grass, camosh, North American wild hyacinth, quamash), needs a moist but well-drained, fertile soil but is intolerant of waterlogging. It is a clump-forming, bulbous perennial but if condition suit it can produce large numbers of seedlings.

The variegated foliage, pink flowers and compact growth of Weigela 'Florida Variegata' make it a popular addition for a mixed border. This deciduous shrub has clusters of pink, funnel-shaped flowers on arching stems from late spring into early summer and are popular with pollinators, especially bees.
