It's New Years Eve and I still haven't forgotten about you!

You'll probably see some more posts from me as I begin my PAX2009 Case Mod. This year I swear I'm not going to wait until the last month to cram all of my work in.

I must be getting old.

Now instead of modding a PC you can buy a sticker to put on the side of you case to make it look like it's modded.

PAX08 (http://www.pennyarcadeexpo.com/) is done and the "Over-clocked" casemod was a raving success. I had several request for interviews both on and off camera. Hopefully, if I make it passed the editing table, I'll be on the PAX08 DVD. And I've once again secured free passage into next year's convention and BYOC. So I'm bringing the decision to casemod. What should I do for PAX09?

- Calliope Case?
- Dawn of War2 themed case?
- Techno-pyramid?
- Other ideas?

(BTW: I pimped this community each time someone asked about this case... so hopefully we'll get some new eyes and contributers)

Well here it is, Tuesday. I only have Wednesdays and Thursday left to work on this case before PAX. Thank my fore-sight and well-documented ideas to make sure this is going to get done on time. Wait, what? I haven't design/documented a damn thing? Oh well, err umm yes, it's all up here. *points to malformed skull*

I'm not too sure why I'm listing these posts in stages. If you haven't figured it out by now I'm just kind of doing work here and there as time and attention permits.

One more update...

Here's a couple of pictures of the stencil process. It's nothing complicated. Matter of fact, I have pretty much polished off the bottle of port just before doing it.

First I lined up the brass and the copper layers. This was easy to do as I had the foresight/common-sense to drill the mounting holes before doing any of the detail work. Then I slid in and aligned the stencil in the center of the cut out brass hole. Then I taped down the stencil so I wouldn't accidentally move it while removing the brass.



Then I masked off the edges so that there was no copper exposed. I removed the tape holding hte stencil in place from the center area. At this point it was ready to mark/paint.



I choose to use some old white Citadel model paint. Why did I use white? *shrug* No particular reason, I just thought it would give me an idea of what it will look like when I'm finished.



On a side note, you are what you eat. I'm pretty sure brass dust in your port isn't good for you... but I really didn't want to waste good port.

Slowly moving along. Now that I have plenty of free-time until I start my new job, the progress should make leaps and jumps.
