I’d love anything Born Again-era, leading up to it, or after the fallout, in particular. Although I have a lot of lingering fondness for Defenders-era as well. Solving crime, locating missing people, helping people in trouble, dealing with personal vendettas. It’s all good. Also, if you want to intersect with anything or anyone in the MCU, go for it. I still yearn for Blip stories and what Defenders characters were up to during that time to keep the city safe.

Karen and Misty. Our somewhat ordinary people (other than a bionic arm) have to work together. I feel like they open up different kinds of cases, from crime-solving to journalistic investigation. I love everything about this setting: the environmental horror or maybe cosmic horror, all the women figuring shit out, the playing with light and darkness. I adore Rose and wanted to give her a chance to solve some mystery. I’m happy with either Rose & Evangeline or Rose /& Evangeline; blur that line however you like. I’d prefer Travis after he’s dead, but I’m also happy with flashbacks to when he was alive and he and Rose were a couple.

A new murder mystery with supernatural undertones. Maybe in the endless light of summer. Or do the darkness of winter again; I’ll never get tired of it as a setting. Maybe the ghosts of Ennis are restless because something is disturbing their slumber. Or one particular ghost refuses to stay quiet.

What if they were somehow picking up hints that someone they thought was dead, isn't? It doesn't have to be Leonard or Behrad, though those are the obvious choices. Just any investigation into what kind of notes theyre picking up that could mean Someone Lived, and whether or not it turns out to be true. Could be traditional sleuthing, a heist to steal personal identifying information, a jailbreak, whatever your heart desires. Thoughts on dynamics, who the "Dead" guy could be, and further prompting in my letter.

Shara and Sigrud's complete trust in each other is also so fun to read, and makes me want to see more of their early days working together!

I will absolutely take more murder mysteries and anything canon-typical here, but I'd also be delighted with darker themes than canon (even more assassinations, blackmail, conspiracies, protagonists falsely accused of a crime, kidnappings, mind games, tragedies and trauma, etc.) or cozy low-stakes cases! (I think it would be hilarious to see Ana get annoyed and bored working on simplistic twee mysteries out in Daretana, for instance.) I'd love to see more of these characters' thought processes as they think through a puzzle, and learn about other weird new places in the Empire!

Some relationship-specific thoughts:
Ana &/ Her Previous Assistant: Ana is such a fun character to read--her sharp wit, ruthlessness, vision for justice, and understated/awkward care towards the people close to her-- and I really want to see her interact with someone she's built up a rapport with over many years, and what kind of person her assistant was to work so well with her. I've been craving more pre-canon speculation about these two, especially more about Ana's big reveal from Book 2 or the cases she took on in the inner rings of the Empire. I'd love to see more of them working together, and what it says about their relationship (is it more of a "brains vs brawn" situation, or does Ana's assistant help her spot any clues or connections that she's missed, or something else?). For their relationship, I especially love a loyalty kink interpretation + a grey area between romantic and platonic (and exploring the power/authority imbalances that play into that), but I'd be happy with any kind of glimpse into Ana's pre-canon casework and relationships!

Ana & Thelenai: I loved the blend of tension and mutual respect they had in Book 2 and would love to see more of them working together!

Din/Strovi, Din/Strovi & Ana: Their teamwork during the mill investigation in Book 1 was great and I'd love to see love more-- think it highlights really well how their mutual admiration for each other comes from seeing each other as the epitome of what it should mean to serve the Empire, yet that service also constantly gets in the way of them spending time together. I also would love an angsty split loyalties/'forced to choose' premise for them (eg. Strovi implicated in one of the cases, Din needs to decide whether to maintain impartiality and do what's right for the case vs. trust his emotions more)-- it puts all those ideals to the test so well!! Plus I'm endlessly amused by Ana's potential interactions with them as a couple-- "supportive but *extremely* awkward" or "annoyed by Din's distraction from his casework" both feel very plausible and very fun to read.

I love Benoit Blanc's dramatic flair, unflappability, and distinctive voice-- would love to see him take on some twisty magical cases! Him trying to solve the Kira case sounds wonderfully hilarious-- I feel like his more grounded approach would contrast so well with Light's elaborate schemes, and I'm still so amused by the idea of him having a defense against the Death Note in the form of Light not knowing how to spell his name ("benwah"???) (I've seen all of the Knives Out movies but about 5 episodes of Death Note so don't feel pressured to stick too closely to either canon). For Shadow of the Leviathan, I love all the weird biopunk details of the world, and would love to see Blanc adapting to that while still solving a murder.

I know Huggie's role was to provide info so that S&H didn't waste plot time investigating, but I'm so curious about how he's getting this information, like was he strolling the streets at night talking to the hookers, addicts & homeless? During the day, visiting massage parlors, bookies, and barbershops? On Sundays, was he listening to the ladies at church gossiping? Why were people talking to him anyway? How was he paying them? With favors and info on raids? He was not at all discreet in meeting up with S&H. The word on the street is Huggy's a snitch. Why isn't he dead? Did he save some crime boss's kid and now he's untouchable? Does he ever get told information specifically because he's warned NOT to pass it onto his white cop friends? Is he less a snitch and more an information broker? Who knows?

I'd love to watch Huggy track down some information and his relationship with his community. Maybe there's a serial killer and the cops don't believe it (those kids are runaways; those hookers left town). Huggy needs to get more information before S&H will believe him. Or S&H get kidnapped and Huggy tracks down the info to give to Dobey. I'd love to see Huggy get some action, maybe running and being chased or pulling in some favors to get gang members to help him rescue somebody. - Hurt/comfort while investigating. I really need to know more about Watson’s leg injury. (I really wouldn't mind if Watson had to use his cane longer and not just the first five minutes of the first episode or so ;) and it being a physical injury, not psychosomatic) Or is it Sherlock who’s injured? What happened?
- What on earth had to happen that Mycroft and Sherlock are working together?! Have they told Watson? Will they save the world/Queen/King/Great Britain/whomever else?

Alternatively, perhaps they could be up against a darker and nastier type of criminal than usual, like a serial killer whose past kills weren't originally connected. Or you could even throw some kind of maybe-paranormal activity at them, like vampires, werewolves or UFOs - is it a hoax, or is there something genuinely weird going on? I'm also reliably amused by their lack of enthusiasm for the physical aspects of the job, so more deep exasperation at the prospect of having to run after suspects and getting a bit beaten up in clumsy fights is always fun.

I enjoy the friendship between these two and would also welcome it being taken in a shippy direction, whether as a past thing or in the present day. Maybe Hughes is in town for another charity sporting event that inevitably ends in murder, or has to take over handling a case where Mike and his team are all potential suspects. Maybe something from Mike's past follows him to Brokenwood, whether that's an old enemy out for revenge or Mike obsessing over a new twist in a case that he couldn't solve before. Or maybe Mike gets into trouble pursuing a lead on an investigation and leaves behind some enigmatic clues that only Hughes knows how to interpret.

I love Dennis and would enjoy seeing him involved in a case from a different angle than just being the suspect's lawyer. Maybe he's being threatened over a legal action he's pursuing, or witnesses the kidnapping of one of his clients, or someone he failed to keep out of jail frames him for a crime in revenge. I also feel like the fact he was first introduced as part of a three-way relationship with Jools and Bryce Fahey is a fun character detail that's been a bit forgotten since, so I'd enjoy any callback to that: maybe he's caught up in the interpersonal drama of Brokenwood's small but murderous poly community, or part of a new ménage à trois someone's trying to blackmail him about, or there's a cold case involving Bryce Fahey's work that touches on that past relationship.

I enjoy the Neilson siblings both separately and together, and think it could be fun to see them dealing with some slightly dodgy problem they'd rather avoid bringing to police attention, like the episode where Mike's stolen car gets dumped on their property. Maybe someone is mysteriously sabotaging Ray's latest new business or aspirational ad campaign, or a suspicious package gets left in the pub, or Trudy has to figure out what kind of shady business deal Ray is being secretive about before it blows up in both their faces. I was also quite touched by how upset Doug and Trudy got over each other in the episode where she gets arrested, and would enjoy seeing more of their post-divorce vibe; they're both capable of going a little bit vigilante, so how far might one take matters into their own hands if the other was hurt or in trouble?

How did someone vanish halfway through a theme park ride? How did a painting in a locked room catch fire? I'd also be interested to see them tackle something more time-sensitive than their usual murders, like a kidnapping or a case where the victim is receiving strange threats counting down to a deadline. How do they cope under pressure? Undercover work could be fun too - how bad is Jonathan at it, and what are the odds that their minor celebrity status causes problems at the worst possible moment?

If you want to write a more shippy take on their relationship, I don't necessarily require a happily ever after or even a full-on get-together arc; both unresolved tension and their canon level of 'one step forwards, two steps back' type dynamic work for me! In particular, I feel like they could be a fun pairing to throw some cliché fic tropes at - huddling for warmth, only one bed, undercover as a couple - because I'm sure they'd find some way to make an unromantic hash of it and end up in a huff with each other. Or maybe Maddy has to rescue Jonathan from mortal peril for once. Does that make them wake up and admit how important they are to each other? Knowing the two of them, probably not.

Lucy also seemed pretty impressed by John trapping the killer into confessing in the season finale, so more of her perspective of seeing him in crime-solving mode could be good. Or maybe she could drag him along on some high-risk adventure he would never get into on his own, like a warehouse break-in or undercover mission. Putting the two of them on a stakeout together could also be fun!

* Lucy Betts-Taylor/John "Ludwig" Taylor

I'm up for reading these two shipped together too, but I'd be fine with that just staying at the level of UST or unspoken feelings rather than a full-blown get-together arc, given the complicated situation and the fact I can't see John moving very fast at the best of times. We don't really get to see much of them having to pretend to be husband and wife in front of a third party, so some sort of undercover as a couple plotline could be fun. Maybe 'James' has to make an appearance at an event that Lucy sees as a chance to snoop around, or the two of them end up having to share a room on an impromptu road trip or surveillance operation. Or maybe looking into the real James's activities starts bringing up both of their issues with him and drags unspoken feelings to the surface.

* Russell Carter & John "Ludwig" Taylor

I love the way this friendship evolves over the course of the show, and would enjoy seeing more of where it goes after John's identity is revealed. How does their work dynamic change? Is there some awkward confusion over who's actually leading the case? Does John struggle with his crime-solving process now there are more restrictions on what he's allowed to do, or even end up trying to conduct his own stealth investigation alongside the official police one so he can see things with his own eyes? It could also be interesting to see him deal with something like a kidnapping that involves more time pressure, or to dig into questions of loyalties: what would John do if he came across a lead on James's disappearance during a case? Would he try to lie about what he was looking into, or risk trusting Russell with the truth?

Canon-style investigations into some niche hobby or community are always fun as well; perhaps this time they're investigating the local folk music circle, boxing club, or funfair. Or how about a surveillance job where they're stuck sharing a tent or caravan, or some silliness involving an animal witness like a parrot? I'd also be up for AUs in this fandom, whether that's a story where they're still private investigators but in a different setting (Space? Urban fantasy? Ancient Rome?) or a canon divergence where Frank stays with the police but somehow Lu and Sebastian still end up helping him solve a crime anyway.

* Frank Hathaway & Joe Keeler

I'm always a sucker for stories where the characters have to work together with someone like Keeler that they usually have a more antagonistic relationship with. I singled out Frank as the one with the most overtly hostile dynamic with him, but the other PIs are very welcome too! Would love to see them forced to team up or help each other out somehow. Maybe they're held hostage or trapped somewhere by bad guys again, or Frank has to persuade Keeler to take him seriously about a police investigation where he recognises the MO, or Keeler reluctantly goes to Frank for help with a case his superiors have ordered him to stop pursuing. Or maybe Frank sends Keeler off on what he thinks is a false lead to get him out of the way but then realises he's put him in real danger and has to rush to the rescue.

So I went down the rabbit hole on this one recently and wow, I'm so glad I did because this kind of dynamic is what I love! I adore the whole “we're the only two people who can understand each other but we're destined to be on opposite sides” paired with “okay, screw that, there's nothing in the rules that says we can't meet somewhere in the middle and spend the rest of our lives as equals.” And while I did enjoy the anime, there's so much in the manga that wasn't adapted in (please, I want another season so I can see their time in New York, because wow, that was tailor made for fanfic). I love that William is so brilliant when it comes to everything except realizing that his boyfriend would actually like for him to live, thank you, and that Sherlock decided to just speed-run all the tropes for their relationship (hurt/comfort, domestic fic, enemies to lovers, murder husbands, etc.) So I would love more with the two of them (and their very pretty hair, because damn, Sherlock, those are some luscious post-time skip locks you got going on).

Prompts:

While the canon does an excellent job of adapting classic Holmes tales and tweaking them around, there's still plenty out there they haven't covered. The Sussex Vampire? The Lion's Mane? The Second Stain? Feel free to go as wild as you want to in changing things around – the canon certainly isn't afraid of mixing it up. And on that note, I'm also open to other crossovers with canons, so if something else inspires you, I have no problem with you mashing it into this as well (I mean, it is the same canon that has Irene Adler become James Bond, Billy the Kid ship Sherlock and Moriarty, and a cameo appearance from a genius young janitor named Bill Hunting.)

I'd also love something supernatural in nature – much like Doyle's work, the canon does stick close to what can be explained in rational terms, but what would happen if they ran into something completely inexplicable? Vampires, ghosts, werewolves, random Egyptian mummies wandering the streets completely pissed off at all the looting of their tombs... I'd love any kind of case where the ending might not be one that Watson can publish without fear of being thought mad.

And lastly, AUs are always fun! What if Holmes and Moriarty had met sooner, perhaps in an arrangement orchestrated by their brothers, or maybe Mycroft is the one that takes William in and he grows up alongside Sherlock? How would that change their plans or some of the cases they get involved in? Or if you want to go even more AU, I'm open to setting and time changes – if you want to go noir, modern, in space, with robots, just have them solve a mystery or go on some sort of adventure to retrieve something and I'm there for all of it!

I ship the hell out of Vince and Cliff and the way Cliff just softens towards Vince, keeping him from losing either his mind or his life. It's one of those stories that easily could have had one of the typical grim endings from Woolrich, but because Vince trusts Cliff, listens to him, and keeps trying to unravel the mystery, he's rewarded at the end with a gruff, but caring, detective who's willing to strip his clothes off to save him. I mean, sure, Cliff is married to his sister, but by the end, the only person Cliff has eyes for is Vince and he spends more time in Vince's bedroom than he does in his own. What I'm saying is that Cliff and Vince are adorable together even with the murders and I want more of them solving mysteries and falling in love. Last year, I got a terrific case for these two gents that made me crave even more!

DNWs: Animal harm, extreme underage (15+ fine), body fluids (blood is fine), permanent nominated character death (transformations/resurrections are fine). No focus on unrequested pairings involving nominated characters; Cliff is canonically married to Vince's sister so I'd prefer that either they had an amicable separation before Cliff and Vince get together or that they were never together at all.

Prompts:

Maybe Cliff never married Vince's sister, but he gets this case about a couple of murders and the more he investigates it, the more he thinks there's something awfully fishy about it. Or maybe they're together from the beginning so when Vince starts getting these nightmares, Cliff's right on top of it to protect him and catch the killer right away.

It would be fun to see Cliff and Vince on a case where Vince isn't the one that needs help. Maybe Cliff needs someone that isn't on the force to lend him an unofficial hand, or maybe it's Cliff himself who's in trouble and it's Vince that has to figure out how to get him out of the mess.

Or you know, maybe neither one of them is directly in trouble and this is just a new weird case that pops up – Woolrich has a fondness for mixing mystery with the supernatural and I'd love anything that borders on it whether it's Cliff and Vince investigating an inexplicable death in an impossible location, or perhaps a disappearance that seemingly has no rational explanation.

I definitely fell in love with Chesterton's works a long time ago, particularly his Father Brown stories, and while I always loved Flambeau in the stories, I never really felt the need to ship the two of them together, despite all the slashy overtones. And then I watched the series... and kept watching... and specifically rewatched the Flambeau episodes and I was hooked. It's so clear in the show that Father Brown is just as invested in Flambeau as he is in him, and it's so much fun to just see Father Brown breaking the law just so Flambeau won't get caught, while Flambeau in return just can't stay away from the good priest, especially if he needs help. The ending of the latest episode with the two of them truly had me going, “okay, so you're both willing to give up everything to save the other one” and I can just soak that kind of thing up all day.

So I am fully caught up with the series, which means I am definitely into Flambeau using his thieving talents to steal shit back for the Vatican. Of course, he ropes Father Brown into it at one point, or maybe Father Brown gets entangled into it all on his own (as he is wont to do) and before you know it, artifacts are getting stolen (again), people are having to save each other (again), and the police really should just sit this one out and let the professionals handle it. I got a truly excellent Louvre heist fic for this, but there's plenty of institutions out there that might need a visit from Flambeau...

I'm also very intrigued by this idea that someone floated online where the roles are reversed – Flambeau as the priest, likely cynical and jaded from what he's seen in the war, who's constantly having a crisis of faith even as he ministers to his flock. Things only get more complicated when a thief announces his desire to steal a religious artifact, and Flambeau can't decide what's the most irritating – the fact that the local constabulary believe he must be involved because of his mysterious past, the village practically falling in love with the “Robin Hood” thief overnight, or that the thief seems hell-bent on restoring Flambeau's faith in God, even if he has to steal half a church to do it...

And you know, there's always murder. Can't go wrong with that! Could be one of those country house set-ups where there's locled rooms and people climbing out of windows (let's face it, Flambeau), or getting snowed in at some posh hotel, or maybe a murder on a train because those are always fun. Throw in a few exiled nobility, or mysterious government agents, or even a rival master thief or figure from someone's past and you have a recipe for a grand old time.

- It'd be fascinating to explore some canon-divergence AUs here. What if certain episodes ended a different way? What if Darius survived, and was around to help look into the existence of the Watchers? What if Joe and Methos (and Duncan and Amanda) handle Kalas and the Watcher database differently in Finale 1 & 2, or someone else finds that extra database CD they showed at the end and then never touched on again? - Among people who know about telepathy - because clearly there are some out there - are there methods for blocking telepathy? Medications, like Tia's? Mental discipline of some sort? What if someone who knows about telepathy and can willfully block it turns up?
- What if somebody who knows about telepathy in general finds out about Toby, and sees him as a threat or a danger? What would they do, and how would the team react?
- It would be interesting to explore the morality of what Toby can do. What if a read gives him the wrong impression, and badly messes up a case? What if he learns and shares something that ends up causing someone harm? How would he and the team acknowledge that, and put things right?
- I'd love to see some sort of mystery or event go down at the hospital. Major theft? Hostage situation? Assault or murder? Something Toby and Oz (and Charlie/the IIB team?) have to pool their resources to solve and fix.

- I have been reading Salt lately, and I've become fascinated with the concept of salt smugglers. Given that salt production is a fairly big part of this series, I'd love to see something to do with salt production/smuggling. Salt-related assassination or sabotage attempts? Salt theft? Smuggling, as mentioned above?
- How common is crime among the gnoles? How do they deal with it? With his experience as a city guard, would Earstripe have a new perspective on that, and how would he handle an instance of crime among gnoles?
- What about an instance of gnoles and humans working together on some criminal enterprise or another? Smuggling ring? Band of thieves or highwaymen? Maybe Piper sees a mixed gang of criminals like that in a body's last moments of life, and brings it to Earstripe.
- Have their been serious accusations of violence leveled at any of the Saint of Steel paladins? Are people still nervous around them? How do they handle that? How would Beartongue and the White Rat handle that, if it got really contentious?
- What are Clara and Istvhan up to, out by her monastery? Has there been any fallout from their canon adventures? Does anyone else come looking for the possibly slightly more infamous bear nuns?
- I'd love to see some friends and family of various canon characters. What if someone's mother or father or sister has a problem that they need help with from our various protagonists? Is someone being blackmailed or extorted or threatened, and come to the paladins/White Rat/etc for help, because of their relation? What are the canon charcters' relationships with their families like? Does this cause a lot of friction?
- Does the Temple of the White Rat receive threats? How often? What do they do if they receive a serious threat? It'd be interesting to see how they and the paladins would handle something like that.

Obviously Ezra is a fave and I enjoy his dynamic with everybody, especially after the Seven have settled and gotten to know and trust each other more, but I am particularly fascinated by his and Nathan's dynamic. They started off so contentious, and are from downright opposing walks of life in many ways, I enjoy seeing the ways they develop to trust and work with and care about one another. Mostly I just love Ezra's contrasts with much of the rest of the group. Makes for some great relationships.

Loose Prompts:
- Every character in this show has some pretty serious baggage. We saw that come back to bite them plenty of times in the show, but there's no reason it can't keep happening. Old enemies? Old friends with a problem or a change of attitude? Old acquaintances come looking for help with something? We love to see it.
- I'd be interested to see some sort of embargo plotline, maybe when most of the Seven are away working on something else? Perhaps some criminal gang blockades the town and won't let people come or go until their demands are met, or are demanding a high tax just to pass.
- I love a good stranded-in-the-wilderness plotline. Maybe somebody gets the drop on a couple of the Seven and makes off with their supplies and horses, leaving them to survive in the middle of nowhere. Bonus points if they were transporting something valuable that they have to find a way to retrieve.
- A mysterious illness or poisoning occurs and Nathan and the others need to find the source and stop it before it gets worse. What if many of the Seven themselves are affected? How does that impact them, and their efforts?
- I could be misremembering, but I feel like canon never showed us a proper cattle rustling plotline, and that's historically been kind of a big deal. I'd love to see something to do with extensive cattle theft, and how the Seven - especially if only a limited couple of them are present - handle the logistics of locating and retrieving something like a whole herd of cattle. I'd be interested to see the same except for horses, as well.

- It would be really interesting to see some of these characters deal with a challenging abnormal before the Sanctuary network is really up and running. What are some of the difficulties they faced before they really had the facilities for it? How did the abnormals they encountered influence how they handled the creation of the network?
- I'd be very interested to see a plotline involving the poaching/trafficking of abnormal animals. Maybe some group that was poaching normal animals discovered a population of abnormals, and decided to capitalize on that, and now the Sanctuary network has to get involved?
- Were there any Sanctuaries that failed or had to be shut down/rebuilt? What could happen, to cause something like that, and how would the characters handle it?
- What all did the Five get up to throughout history, outside of their work with the Sanctuaries? We saw some of their WWII adventures, what other events did they get caught up in? Where all did they go, and what did they see?
- Post-canon, what challenges do the characters face with their new Sanctuary? How precisely has their relationship with the world changed, and how do they handle that? What sort of work is the network doing on a global scale?

One of the things I love about Numb3rs is that the show makes a point to allow for interactions between characters that, in the normal course of things, might not interact that much. I really enjoy some of the contrasts and connections between academia and criminal investigation. I greatly enjoy the different perspectives you get from different characters, because of their wildly divergent walks of life.

- I'd be very interested to see a plot where someone targets or comes after one of the characters. Possibly for revenge, possibly for something they know, that somebody doesn't want getting out? Possibly some sort of enemy from someone's past?
- Since poaching doesn't come up as a plotline nearly as often as I would like, I'd love something to do with that. Something involving the blackmarket pet trade? Someone dead due to a dangerous wild animal kept as a pet? An investigation into illegal hunting or fishing?
- I'd love to see something involving the background of one or more of the characters we know less about than the Eppes brothers. Megan or Larry or Ian, or whoever else you think might be interesting to explore. Possibly a case involving a family member, or an old friend?
- What if a couple of these characters get trapped or stranded somewhere together? Stuck in the desert after a car breaks down? Trapped in a collapsing building? Stuck on a boat out at sea? Some sort of survival situation could be very interesting, especially if there's a bad guy lurking around somewhere, as well.
- Something involving espionage would be super interesting. A spy within the FBI? Someone stealing information on a case, that then derails that case entirely? How would the characters find out, and how would they stop it?

- I would love to see some sort of post-canon storyline involving Grimehug. How do the gnoles of respond, after the clocktaurs are are gone? Where do the gnoles that used to handle the clocktaurs go? What would Grimehug and the other characters do with that, if they saw some of that fallout?
- Some sort of exploration of gnole culture and where gnoles and humans intersect with Grimehug and Learned Edmund (and whoever else!) would be fascinating, especially if there are some sort of complications. Maybe they uncover some secret someone wants to keep buried?
- Directly post-canon, what if the characters have to deal with a stray clocktaur or two that are still on the rampage? What if somebody's gotten it into their head that they can control one, or is trying to use one in some way?
- What about Boss Horsehead? Is he still looking for Slate and the others, even after they've left Anuket? Would he send spies? Assassins? What might they have to watch out for, knowing he's probably even more pissed off than before?
- Either during canon or post-canon with a fix it, I'd love to see Brenner and Caliban or Brenner and Edmund forced to work together on something. Gathering information on the clocktaurs? On wonder engines in general? Or maybe on some entirely new threat?
- The characters get involved in some sort of mystery involving one or more of the small gods of the setting, like the wild god whose priestess spoke to Caliban at one point. What other minor gods are there, and how do they express their influence? How does that conflict with the characters and their paths?

The different places they're from, the different reasons for being where they are, make for some really interesting dynamics. I do especially love the tension where Todd is involved. His sort of very cautious and very circumstantial allyship with the Atlantis bunch is incredibly interesting to me.

- Some sort of exploration of different cultures and cultural conflict would be really interesting, especially involving Ronon and Teyla and their knowledge of the people of Andromeda. Given that their own cultures are so wildly different, and different again from Earth culture, something that brings aspects of that to light would be awesome.
- What has Todd the Wraith been up to? I'd love to see him team up with the Atlantis crew again, due to some new threat. Infighting with the Wraith again? A human faction who proves a threat to them all? Or maybe the Atlantis team find themselves in a situation where they have to seek Todd out?
- What if some faction from Earth becomes a threat to Atlantis? What if they get access to the Stargate, or to some other form of intergalactic travel, and come to cause trouble? What about if there's a traitor already on Atlantis, working for them?
- It would be really interesting to see a mystery involving the ecology or flora/fauna of the planet Atlantis is on. Maybe they start seeing bizarre wildlife behavior, and need to figure out what's happening, or discover some bizarre biome or natural phenomenon on land, and need to explore what it is and how it works.
- Any sort of stranded/survival plotline could be very interesting. Locked in a newly discovered part of Atlantis? Stuck on a new planet and unable to make it back to the Stargate? Lost in difficult terrain or bad weather and unable to find their way? Bonus points if there are bad guys lurking around that the characters also have to deal with somehow.

Any gender characters are excellent for any of these. I do tend to prefer characters over the age of 30 or so, if age gets specified at all.

I love it when characters have some fun contrasting traits that cause friction in a working relationship, and I love it when they manage to find ways to use that to work together anyway and find some sort of common ground. It's especially fun when each characters' strengths, even if they can be at odds with each other, come out to help solve a mystery or a problem in their own ways. I love seeing people who are experts at different things figuring out how to work together, and when to step forward or back down respectively, depending on what's needed when.

Love it when characters have an established relationship and know a lot about one another, or when they're meeting for the first time and figuring it all out, or anything in between that you enjoy writing.

Loose Prompts:
- I would love to see some explorations of different characters' magic or abilities here. If the character is magical or supernatural, how does that magic work? Maybe something's going wrong with it, somehow, and they need to figure out what's causing that and how to fix it before it gets worse.
- Similarly, I'd love seeing some exploration of how the magic in a setting works, if magical or supernatural characters are involved. What types of magic are there? What types of creatures? Are either of these things dangerous, and how do the characters respond to that? Do the characters have past experience with this form of danger, and how do they feel about it?
- Give these characters some baggage! Maybe something from their past is coming back to haunt them. Is someone trying to kill them? Undermine them in some way? Is it a literal haunting? How do they handle it, and who do they go to for help? Is the help in question a last resort, or a trusted friend? Or possibly someone who just happened to be in the right place at the right time?
- In a supernatural/magical setting, is there some sort of veil of secrecy in place, where most people don't know about the magical side of things? What if something threatens that secrecy? What are the stakes, and what would the characters do to protect it?
- In a similar vein, what happens if that secrecy is completely destroyed? How would the characters handle that, especially ones that were unaware of magical or supernatural aspects in the world before? What would they do to keep people safe and mitigate the damage?
- What sort of crime happens in a magical/supernatural setting? What sort of goods are smuggled, or monsters hunted? How does that impact things like assassination and theft, if one has to take magic into account, and how do the characters deal with that? Are they prepared for it, or do they have a lot of learning to do?
