so an update on my soc class:
friday i skipped to go shopping. i had enough for the week.
monday we met with our debate groups instead of the quiz because she was going to be out of town or something
today: went to class ready for this quiz. she never showed up. 10 minutes into sittin there someone went up to her office. nothing.
so we passed around an attendance sheet, turned our papers into a guy that shares the office with her and took off at 15-20 after.
i hope nothing bad happened. but that is probably not the case considering her record.
so yeah there was a handful of hours wasted (for REALs) on that class yet again.
after waiting the in between time, then waiting for her to not come. it was really cool
and still no email with any sort of explanation.

in other news:



oh annnnnd i got an A on my research methods exam


so things with my grandparents get more interesting everyday
today i stopped by there for a bit
my grandpa out of nowhere handed me his glass and said i could finish it
3/4ths of a very strong margarita
i about lost it
i have never drank nor really ever discussed me drinking around him
and he doesnt really drink.
maybe one or two at creekside with his kids or out at the eagles or something here and there...
hilarious.

she is now a tattoo whore
she was watching miami ink and getting really into it
talking about her tattoos
other tattoos she would consider getting
(she just got her first and second tattoo about a month ago)
etc etc
wtf

so i am currently very annoyed with my soc class (social problems 220 whatever)

i think we have had about 3 semi-successful class days thus far due to the fact that we waste so much time doing bullshit

for example:
the first day of class was all about the syllabus. fair enough.
except the fact that she was being "cool" and made up a draft version because she wanted us to give our input on things so she could finalize it and give it to us again in a week.

the second day we went on and on about this attendance policy she came up with.
everyone had something to say and it was a big waste of time.
make your policies, let us know, end of story.
personal discrepancies can be dealt with via email or something....

day three i think we lectured for a minute. literally.
we were going to talk about the basics of social problems.
she brought up the issue of the gender wage gap (basically to every $1 a man makes a woman makes about $.70.)
then there was a group of guys mainly who just couldn't understand why.. and all this shit.
argued with her forever about how it was bullshit and making personal examples.
the point is not personal, but generalized. and it was just ridiculous.
it wasn't something to debate. it is what it is.
needless to say we never finished that lecture. because we spent all that day trying to set people straight about this stupid issue that was just an intro to what we were really going to get into.

the next day talking about how much of an intense class we are......

friday was spent going over the new syllabus. yeah the entire class period. oh and the only thing she did was add the attendance policy that we had already discussed in great detail.

monday we watched part of Fahrenheit 9/11.
then listened to everyone bitch about a paper she assigned without any heads up.
holy shit people! its college!!!!

okay tuesday we had a guest speaker.
i got excused from class because damien had a doctors appointment. basically this guy talked about whatever and then presented this opportunity for extra credit.

the next day we come to class. waste the first 10 minutes taking attendance that doesnt really need discussion.
then 10 more writing down key points from the reading we were to have done to turn is as our participation.
then she announces a pop quiz.
about the guest speaker.
holy shit dont do that.......
so everyone is bitching about it.
they claim the guy said he would give her notes to post online so nobody took notes etc etc.
she asked for specific names... and it just went on and on how it was unfair that she would try and test them on something that seemed irrelevant to the class?
i don't know.
she just sat up there fielding questions/comments/bitching and repeating herself. " nobody likes pop quizzes. the point is to catch you off guard and assess the knowledge that you retained without having just previously memorized the answers. everything i present to you in this class you are responsible for. "
blah blah blah.
never just cutting it off to actually get somewhere in the class.
that was the entire class period.

i would just stop coming, do the readings, and be fine on the exams i am sure.
but no she has to have this strict attendance policy so i can hang around purdue all day waiting to go hear a bunch of bitches argue about pointless shit.

whew.

i HATE parking at this college.
its even worse now because the few free parking spaces are now taken by future Purdue students and their parents visiting the campus.
its usually ok during the summer because you can sometimes get by with parking in the garages.
sometimes not = $20 tickets.
when you get tired of fighting that you can park in these huge lots on the ends of the campus and ride buses.
that isn't the case during the summer.
so anyway. im mad.
i completely missed my first class of the day due to driving around in circles.

and now that i have bitched in livejournal for a minute i can continue bullshitting my paper about wealth and power: the bias of the system.

i was doing really good with updating often for a while.
i have been busy
things have been changing
blah dee blah
new classes! they are good.
for now atleast.
i like this new schedule i am on more than i thought i would.
i get up in the mornings like a real person.
i am still having a huge problem with staying up until like 4am doing god knows what.. but you'll have that.
my current classes are Research Methods and Social Problems
research methods isn't as bad as i had anticipated.. yet at least..


as for the picture, i went to yatez's last wednesday
i stayed until friday morning
because i had to come back and take my maymester final
it was very spontaneous for me..
i am glad i did it. we had fun.
i miss that biotch.

i have 1 class for that
then 2 classes for module II summer session extravaganza super blow-out whatever
/school

jadens birthday is sunday
so is mothers day and graduations
i cant believe i am going to have a 4 year old...

brandie's birthday is the 15th
but she doesnt count because she is still in amsterdam having more fun than i can ever imagine
