I mentioned earlier today my frustration that I forgot to post to my blog yesterday. It's not like I'm getting paid for it and thus missing a paycheck, or anything. It's just one of those things where I've made a commitment to myself, "I will post to my blog every day," and I had managed to keep that promise for 50 days, then Wednesday— BRAIN FART!
Well, the other streak I've been working on is still going strong. That's my goal of using the pool every day this month. We were both tired after the county fair on Wednesday but we did go out to the hot tub for a long sunset soak after dinner.

Y'know, when I started this thing about enjoying #PoolLife every day I didn't intend it as a promise to do it for a whole month. Initially I was just happy I used the pool 3 days in a row. That was after several weeks of not using the pool at all. Each time I thought about I rationalized it away as "It's too cold to enjoy" or "I'm tired, I'll just relax inside." Those 3 days in a row were a victory over the I-don't-wannas.
Only sometime after that did I start attaching a larger meaning to keeping the streak going. That larger meaning came from folding in our travel plans— or, more specifically, our lack of travel plans for June. At some point we turned our frustration of "Dangit, we haven't made any travel plans for June" into the satisfaction of "Y'know what, let's enjoy not going anywhere big the whole month of June!" Once we did that we decided to broaden it to, "Let's stay home all month... and use the pool every day!"
