Hello all.
Does anyone know anything about marriage between a Canadian citizen and one from Europe? I am trying to research it but don't know the first thing to do.
My boifriend and I have been together for 3 1/2 years and are talking marriage but he's from Sweden and I'm from Canada. He hopes to emigrate here but the rules for emigrating to Canada are so strict. We Will eventually get married it's just a matter of when.
If anyone has any knowledge about such issues I would greatly appreciate your comments.

OMG! I'm so excited about this, I can barely contain myself.
At the end of the month, I'm visiting Canada, or as I affectionately refer to it as Canadia, The Magical Land of Awesome. I've wanted to visit Canada since I've been a child but I've never had the opportunity (pecuniary or otherwise) to travel. Sadly I've never even been out of the country.
Until now.
I've saved my pennies and in a few short weeks I'm headed to Vancouver, BC as a birthday gift to me for turning the big.................we won't mention that. ;D
I've got my passport, got my tickets. If anyone reading this has any suggestions regarding hotels, places to visit (LGBT district?), monuments to check out, anything, please bring forth your suggestions. I'm still compiling an itinerary and I'm open to ideas/suggestions.
And what is the transportation like? Do I need to rent a car or can I get by using the public transportation? Okay I apologize for the frazzled post. I'm just so excited, I can barely contain myself.
Thanking you guys in advance.
Here are some basic ABC guidelines that will work wonders if we're all on the same page:
1. If you live in a riding that went Liberal, NDP or Bloc in the last election, vote for that party.
2. If you live in a riding that elected a Conservative, vote for the party that came second.
3. Vote for Elizabeth May if you live in her riding.
Now get your family and 10 friends to do the same. Let's vote out the Regressive Conservatives!
My name is Alicia (call me Lich or Licha) and I just joined the community :D
I want to say that it's my dream to live in Canada someday so I'll be here often asking lots of questions.
I hope to meet lots of people here too :) from Canada and all over the world.
See you around!
