I work with a bunch of Bible thumpers as it is the belt buckle of the bible belt. Some of these thumpers have their holier than thou noses affixed permanently so as to not smell the noxious odors of us heathens.
In the training we had on communication the asshole facilitator asks about "people who cuss".
The Bible thumpers immediately say things like oh they lack intelligence, or they don't know how to use the English language.
The two of us with Masters degrees and the high school class valedictorian jumped their asses. Noses were resolutely maintained in the air. That showed their lack of intelligence. Correct answers would be "I find it crass" "I think it is tacky" I think it is rude". Insults with no basis... not very smart.
So I wonder what people with doctorates, other way advanced degrees, vice presidents think about that notion that people who drop f-bombs or s-bombs or other verbal bombs lack intelligence??
Or My dear friend's list? you're all intelligent. I'm sure a few of you drop verbal bombs.
The 12th Doctor was announced today. I am EXCITED!! He's an older so I am hoping it is a throw back to the old professorly type doctors. Though I will be very very sad to see Matt Smith depart. He's my favorite of the new iterations.
This is my last week of Criminal Analysis. I can't wait. The class could have been interesting but the insructor ended up doing like they all do and not participating. So glad it's almost over!!
I have one more class to go. I want to take Anthropology of Religion but i have not been able to contact tht instructor to let me in. If I don't hear anything by Tuesday, I start finding other means and become truly obnoxious :D I saved my fun elective for the end. Criminology department isn't offering me one. So i went outside of the department. I want this one.
There is a preseason football game on tonight. It is on NBC. My local NBC affiliate and Dish network could not get their heads out of their collective asses and come to an agreement. I do not have NBC at the moment. This will become a problem come regular football season. the local NBC ownership is playing the victim and telling their viewers to switch. fuckers. I like Dish. We get alternative baseball channels. I have been able to watch my Cardinals every day this week. the only NBC shows I watch are Grimm and Hannibal. i'll be able to watch those online. Football is the problem. I shall get obnoxious with these two companies as well.
Do not want to to back to work tomorrow. But that is a given.
This is my supernatural fanfic written for a prompt by ladykorana at the ohsam community.
Gen in nature.
PROMPT: The boys run into Jody Mills. She's still (quite understandably) shaken and freaked by her near-death-by-Crowley. However, once she sees how ill Sam looks, she seizes upon 'nurse Sam back to health' as her new mission
Went to the game. First it was hot and the sun was way too bright. Then, it was pouring. We escaped for cover along with everyone else. The concourse was a sea of wet bodies pressed together, trying to move from point A to point B. Thankfully the hot dog line wasn't long. It was delicious. It stopped pouring but there were a few other bouts of rain throughout the game.
Another post by me!! Again, boring uneventful life. It's July 4th. The mister is out golfing and I am bumming around on the internet with NCIS on in the background. No plans for today. I am thinkinng about going to a baseball game. Only problem is Jorja the chocolate lab is a big baby. She's done all right the past couple of nights with the fireworks so maybe it will e OK to leave her.
I really need to finish my school work for the week but it seems wrong to do it on a holiday. I guess I'll save it for tomorrow. We're going to see Monster's U and I'll probably karaoke tomorrow nigh
So I shall post again. Nothing at all exciting going on with my life. Work. Grad School which = school work.
Oh but my sinuses are hurting like someone has shoved a coathanger up nostrils and is rooting around. If it persists I will have to call the doctor. Goody.
I also need to redo my LJ to reflect my new interests... ok really just one. Supernatural. Love me some Sam Winchester.
OK crafty friends. Coasters. I am going to attempt ceramic coasters this weekend.
The basic technique is go to Home Depot or Lowes. Get 4 x 4 ceramic squares. Glue on backing like felt or cork. Modge podge on a picture. Use spray sealant. Voila!
So then I got to thinking… I wonder if this same technique would use on a mug?
Use some other technique?
Some I found were use a dry erase marker, write something, bake it
Use ceramic pens
Anyone have any further thoughts? I would love to print out “I solemly swear I am up to no good” and then use sealant on a mug. Is this practical for a mug? I’m sure it wouldn’t be dishwasher safe but hey, I can handwash!
