HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER-IN-LAW JUSTIN!!!! HAVE A GREAT ONE AND ENJOY YOUR NEW HOME IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO lneef...OR LINDSEY! HERE'S HOPING THAT YOU HAVE A FABULOUS BIRTHDAY (WHICH IT WILL BE DUE TO YOUR INSANELY WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND GIRLS) AND THAT TODAY IS A DAY OFF OF FATIGUE AND IS FULL OF RELAXATION AND FUN!
and of course: HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!!! I am so proud to be living in the greatest country in the world...no matter what the ups and downs are...
Ed McMahon....always loved him...he was so great. Made me wish he were my grandpa..
Farrah Fawcett...The original Angels was the best cast. Even if she was a little um, flaky afterward..
and sadly: Michael Jackson. Yes, I know his name is synonomous with all things weird and so on, not to mention the smudges of did he or didn't he...but still. This is the man who brought us Billie Jean, the Moonwalk, Thriller and just some of the best damn music the 80's had to offer...plus hey..We Are The World...all those super stars, all together, all for the same thing. I have to say...I still love his music, even if he did get all weird what with the plastic surgery, and the ranch and monkeys adn the hanging the kids out of a window...still, sad day.
Rest in Peace, all of you...may your journey home be swift.
*sigh*....dropped Hubby off at the Portland Jetport this morning, his flight left at 5:30am...(that means we were up at 3).
He should be on his way to DC right now...then short layover, and off to San Fransisco..for another one, and then to Honolulu. He was supposed to go back on Saturday, but his connection was Chicago, and they cancelled all flights there, so he had to get something different. (not real clear right now, sorry...been up since 3, and didnt' really sleep well anyway..nap later!)
So, now he won't be home till Janurary. This is the hardest part of the whole thing. Right after we dropped him at the airport, Pnut (who can't be left behind, like the 14 year old who's still sleeping) just started to cry, "Daddy...I want my Daddy! I miss him"...I of course was already in tears....this is just so hard.
She's going to go to school today....(daycare really) I spoke with her teachers, and they agree that keeping the routine will be a big help while her Daddy's gone. She's been out Friday and Monday now....she misses her friends. And I really need some sleep..which is what I'm going to do when I get back from dropping her off.
So: Here's hoping for clear skies, and still winds. Safe flight to my husband, and I hope he manages a little sleep on his flights....and that his CO doesn't act the asshat too badly over something he had no control over. And here's hoping January gets here as fast as possible.....
Hubby is home. Til Friday. So we're trying to spend some time with him before he leaves, though the jet lag isn't being too kind. Orders. When Hubby comes back from Hi, he will roll to shore duty. That means 3 years with no submarine patrols (yay!!!) However this means a new duty station. After speaking to the detailer, we are penciled in for NOB (or for you non Navy peeps, Norfolk Naval Station). We are fairly excited about this though we will miss our friends here very much. I have to say thanks in advance to lneef (no, I haven't figured out the LJ cut stuff yet) and her hubby for all the answers to the annoying questions I have already started asking. Come April, Hubby is to contact the detailer again to get the orders cemented, then once Jae is out of school in June, we'll be moving temporarily to Daddy's house in FL untill Hubby comes home around Xmas. Yes, for those of you who know, Jae will be going to my old high school for at least the first half of the school year. I do not yet know if he is amused. In other news Jae will be 14 at the end of the month. He DID get a new bike -which is very sweet if I do say so myself- but we are now working on what his bday gift will be -other than Itunes. His grades continue to be a C or better. That is all for now. More later when I'm not surrounded by running screaming children on my phone posting. Lol.
