just to say tickets for the Beltaine feast can now be reserved by emailing shire@st-andrews.ac.uk with your name and dietary requirements (ie vegetarian, allergies). Tickets for the twelve course feast are £12 members/£14 non members. The feast will be held at the Cosmos centre on Saturday 3rd May, 7.15 for a 7.30 start.
There will be the annual storytelling contest so (to quote kat):"If you wish to tell us a tale of battles won, beasts slain, fair maidens...er...
conquered by the medium of prose, poetry, limerick or interpretive dance then
tell me in your reservation email so we can ensure there is a time for you to
make yourself heard in hope of winning the story-telling stick from Sir Tim of
the Hat."
As usual bring your own bowl, knife, spoon, drinking vessel and drink
Bookings need to be made by WED 30TH APRIL AT NOON since we will need to know numbers to buy food
Heya-if any of you old/experienced members are still looking out on here for discussion and interesting things you may see that it is not as active as it could be-this is as most of us tend to be of the facebook generation when it comes to sharing photos and passing on messages. We have a new messageboard on the sinner now (linked from the website...which you should all know the address for) and could do with some old hats to help answer newbee questions, post stuff that you think is of interest and generally stay updated on everything we do, me and Jo will try and keep here updated aswell but our main focus is the sinner board so any input on there would be much appreciated.

hey,
there are still tickets available for the michaelmas feast on saturday night (6th october) at 7 in st andrews episcopal church hall (the one opposite Regs). tickets cost (sorry european keyboard without pound sign) 10 pound member/12 non member. (membership can be obtained on the night for the sum of 2.50)
also a reminder of the first sunday session on sunday 7th. fighting will be taking place as usual, followed at 2 by more fighting plus displays from other guilds such as artisans, clothiers etc. (basically its an excuse to socialise while wearing garb and trying to convince newbies either to join or that they did the right thing by joining)
new semester is fast approaching so here are the first few events we have planned:
30th Sept - fresher fayre - chance to attract new members and for old members to renew membership
6th Oct - michaelmas feast (will post again when tickets are available)
7th Oct - first session back - uber training for fighting from 12, displays of the range that shire offers from 2 - we already have fighting displays, artisan things, clothiers etc etc planned but if anyone can think of anything else or is interested in participating let us know.
14th Oct - fighting as usual from 12, tavern games from 2
[as an aside, we have a kind of non existent brewers guild at the moment, so if anyone is interested in heading the guild, participating, or helping some of us that have no idea how to brew establish the guild we'd be very grateful]
We found various items that had been left behind when we were cleaning up after the Beltaine Feast, and we would quite like to return them to their owners, so if you're missing anything, or you know of someone who is missing anything, we would be grateful if you could let us know
Mead is now behind the counter at Luvian's rather than with the Cairn o' Mohr wines. They had plenty of both Moniak and Lindisfarne as of this afternoon!

I would like to teach my fellow bards down here in Durham how to sing about long and hairy things, and other such amusing lyrics ... can you send me a copy of the sheet music you were using at Beltaine or direct me to it's commercial location?
(At least, I'm hoping that was sheet music as I can't entirely remember the tunes!)
I'll give you my address if it involves actual paper!
Hey guys
as I'm sure you all know, our fabulous annual Beltaine shenanigans will be taking place THIS SATURDAY, kicking off at 11am at the Castle for 5 hours of fighting, singing, dancing, falconry, tavern-y goodness, market mooching and so much more. Entry is only the cost of castle entry and if you wear your gown it should be free :-)
If that isn't enough, we have our fabulous TWELVE COURSE feast in the evening, starting at 7PM at MARTYR'S CHURCH HALL (North Street). Aside from pretty much all the food you can eat, there will be a storytelling competition, entertainment from the bardic guild, cloven fruit galore (bring your crush and make them kiss you ;-)) as well as the usual great atmosphere and company.
THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT TEN TICKETS LEFT FOR THE FEAST (£14/£12 for members) so get your reservation in quick! e-mail caledon@st-andrews.ac.uk to reserve a ticket
See you Saturday!!!!!
*faints from the excitement...*
