“In 1991, at an ACT UP meeting in New York, activists announced the formation of a new group—one that, at a moment of intense focus on the experiences of gay men during the AIDS crisis, would give voice to the lesbian feminist perspective. fierce pussy set their name in lowercase in part to signal their rejection of traditional hierarchical structure. This double-sided print details what those lost to AIDS would be doing had they lived, including the domestic (“walking the dog”), the erotic (“going down on you tonight”), the political (“still not being able to afford healthcare”), and the wistful (“going gray”).”
