Quidditch rules, regulations, and suggestions:

You have 600 points to spend on players. Each team carries a roster of ten players: seven starters and three reserves. Since you only have three reserves to cover four positions, you might want a player who can play more than one position.

Final rosters must be submitted by the captain. Only the roster that the captain submits will stand.

Different positions emphasize different stats. You can read about what is important for each position here.

One round will take place every three days. This is mostly to give myself time to be lazy calculate all the points.

If a player performs especially well, s/he has a chance to gain a point. If a player performs especially poorly, s/he may lose a point.

After each round, you may exchange one player from your roster for a new player. Again, this must be submitted by the captain.

The wildcard is on a scale of 1-3 and affects how likely it is that a random event such as a fight might sideline your character. Ginny Weasley, well known for behaving herself, has a wildcard of 3. Ron Weasley, well known for getting the jitters, has a wildcard of 1.

Available players can be viewed here.

You won't know exactly how I'm calculating the scores for each player, but you might be able to figure it out with experience. Good luck with that...heh heh heh.

Supergirl Eye By Me

Better late than never!

So there's mystery afoot here at Hogwarts? Good thing the Gryffindor Quidditch team learned everything they need to know about mystery solving by watching Scooby Doo. They'll find the guy in the mask in no time flat. Go Gryffindor!

Golden Snitch?

More evidence from etoiline:

I've got a cleaning business, and someone stopped by the other day, looking for cleaning supplies. I think he was a Puff...looked a bit lost, so he's probably first year. Very polite though. I think his name was Jon...but I'm not sure what his last name was. He found what he needed and left quickly after he paid. Guess he had something to do. I only remember because he was the only person to come in that day. Sometimes business is slow, what can I say?

With regards to the game and the incidents last night...

Dear Quidditchers:

We have been asked to assist with the investigation concerning the disappearance of the Hufflepuff House Cup and the Ravenclaw Quidditch Cup. Instead of a regular game, then, we shall instead resolve the two mysteries and hopefully bring these two awful incidents to a conclusion.

Gryffindor and Hufflepuff: Your mission is to discover who stole the Ravenclaw Quidditch Cup!

Ravenclaw and Slytherin: Your assignment is to work on the Hufflepuff House Cup Case!

The prefects have filled out incident reports and we have pictures of the crime scene. There are also a few witnesses that have come forward. In addition more pieces of evidence are sure to come up - please do your best to solve the case!

Chasers will be expected to provide "exhibits" based upon evidence and testimony received. They may use any form to present them, such as stories and illustrations to better convey their sense of what occurred. Beaters will use these exhibits and evidence given to argue their hypotheses on what actually happened. Beater A will present their arguments first, as is consistent with Standard Round presentation. SR will not start until Sunday at 2:00pm CST-US and will end at 2:00pm CST-US Wednesday. LR will commence at 6:00pm CST-US Wednesday and will conclude at noon on Thursday. The game will conclude at 7:00pm CST-US on Thursday.

Seekers will be given a piece of evidence which they must use to track down other pieces of evidence. Their round will run the same as other Seeker rounds, with having to contact someone. They will post the piece of evidence they discover as the "snitch" rather than solving a riddle. This means that both teams will benefit from the snitch being caught.

Keepers will assist all players, as usual, but they have no set project this time. Instead, they must negotiate with the other team to gain access to their evidence - assuming that they have evidence that the other teams do not receive. They will determine whether or not the evidence presented by the other team is to be trusted and what type of evidence to grant their opposite. They will also be the team's primary facilitator who deals with all witnesses - questioning and otherwise. They will pass on any information gained to their team mates.

Good luck to all! Find the culprit or culprits and discover their motives! (Points will be allocated based upon presentation, logic and overall accuracy. The same rubric used for previous games will be used for the Chaser and Beater challenges.) If there are any questions, please address them on your practice fields and we will get to them as soon as possible. And remember, anyone could be a suspect. (Unless, of course, you're actually a team member. Since I know that all Quidditch teams had practice from 5:00pm until 9:00pm the night the incident occurred.)

Sincerely,
Delfina
