Dear Quidditchers:
We have been asked to assist with the investigation concerning the disappearance of the Hufflepuff House Cup and the Ravenclaw Quidditch Cup. Instead of a regular game, then, we shall instead resolve the two mysteries and hopefully bring these two awful incidents to a conclusion.
Gryffindor and Hufflepuff: Your mission is to discover who stole the Ravenclaw Quidditch Cup!
Ravenclaw and Slytherin: Your assignment is to work on the Hufflepuff House Cup Case!
The prefects have filled out incident reports and we have pictures of the crime scene. There are also a few witnesses that have come forward. In addition more pieces of evidence are sure to come up - please do your best to solve the case!
Chasers will be expected to provide "exhibits" based upon evidence and testimony received. They may use any form to present them, such as stories and illustrations to better convey their sense of what occurred. Beaters will use these exhibits and evidence given to argue their hypotheses on what actually happened. Beater A will present their arguments first, as is consistent with Standard Round presentation. SR will not start until Sunday at 2:00pm CST-US and will end at 2:00pm CST-US Wednesday. LR will commence at 6:00pm CST-US Wednesday and will conclude at noon on Thursday. The game will conclude at 7:00pm CST-US on Thursday.
Seekers will be given a piece of evidence which they must use to track down other pieces of evidence. Their round will run the same as other Seeker rounds, with having to contact someone. They will post the piece of evidence they discover as the "snitch" rather than solving a riddle. This means that both teams will benefit from the snitch being caught.
Keepers will assist all players, as usual, but they have no set project this time. Instead, they must negotiate with the other team to gain access to their evidence - assuming that they have evidence that the other teams do not receive. They will determine whether or not the evidence presented by the other team is to be trusted and what type of evidence to grant their opposite. They will also be the team's primary facilitator who deals with all witnesses - questioning and otherwise. They will pass on any information gained to their team mates.
Good luck to all! Find the culprit or culprits and discover their motives! (Points will be allocated based upon presentation, logic and overall accuracy. The same rubric used for previous games will be used for the Chaser and Beater challenges.) If there are any questions, please address them on your practice fields and we will get to them as soon as possible. And remember,
anyone could be a suspect. (Unless, of course, you're actually a team member. Since I know that all Quidditch teams had practice from 5:00pm until 9:00pm the night the incident occurred.)
Sincerely,
Delfina
Quidditch Coach
