Squee!
I finally got it. I finally got my copy of The Outlaw Demon Wails by the wonderful, talented and everlastingly clever Ms. Kim Harrison. God, I love the way that woman spins words. Anyway, it was definitely worth the six month wait for my Mass Media Paperback copy. (I would hate to start breaking the book trend now)
I basically read straight for a day and a half. And I loved it.
Granted, I'm still mightily pissed that Kisten is dead, but I can still feel little ghost tendrils from his presence. He was my ever-loving favorite, after Rachel of course. Anyway, I'm absolutely enamored with the way this series is going. I love not being able to figure out where the plot twists are coming from.
Surprises = Glee!
I can't wait to find out more about the demons, since they've sort of filled the hole left by Kisten. Al, especially, is gaining popularity. And Newt, well she a crazed demon. What's not to like? But the person I love the most right now, would be Bis. I just can't get over the amazingness of a Gargoyle being used. Ms. Harrison is taking all of my favorite fantasy/superstition elements and wrapping them into an artful saga.
Winter break. I think the only reason I like it (besides the lack of oppressive schooling) is the fact that I usually spend more than half of it buried beneath dozens of books. And, althought I've got to finish Brisinger, I've gotten this itching in my palms to take a walk with Harry Dresden again. I miss the crazed Chicagoan.
Anyway, right now, I love me some demon. :)
