so the last hobbit movie is coming out in a few weeks. i'm all excited to see it, but also sad that the whole LOTR thing is coming to an end. i'm glad peter jackson picked billy boyd to write and sing the theme song, the last goodbye - it gives it a more familial, intimate feel to it.
this year i was too lazy to post about going to TIFF. i did go and one of the movies i saw was far from men, which is based on a short story by albert camus called the guest. it is a brilliant film, reda kateb was awesome(!), as was viggo, who we all know speaks spanish, but did we also know that he speaks fluent french? these two actors and the director, david oelhoffen, showed up for a Q&A and let me tell you - viggo talking about camus = brain orgasm!
this is one of those movies that makes you think of your own life, try to remember to consider things from the other person's POV, and try to do the right thing no matter the consequences. i highly recommend this to people who like movies that make you think.
