RZA making a terrible beat for Guitar Center is one of the funniest videos to ever exist. Every new sound just makes the beat worse and you can see him visibly panicking the entire time.

also the comments are great

How is using the term woke sarcastically in a derogatory way racist? I always thought it's anti-whatever-they're-disrespecting, for example "these woke people with their gayness" would be homophobic, but not racist

blurrynovacane:

Well, that would be homophobic and racist, though the racism would not necessarily be targeted towards the people involved depending on the situation.

“Woke” is a term appropriated from Black dialect. It means someone aware of racism and white supremacy! Using it as a derogatory term (especially outside of its actual definition) is explicitly racist and started originally as a way to target/insult Black groups, specifically Black activists.

Conservatives, specifically non-Black conservatives, started appropriating the term to use it negatively as a slur for Black folks fighting racism, fighting bigotry, etc to the extent that so many people pretend it’s just a term for people considered “too progressive” and not explicitly anti-Black to be used in that way, regardless of whether you’re a conservative or not.

If you’re using woke in a derogatory way, you’re continuing the appropriation of Black dialect and the anti-Black trend of turning Black terms into derogatory insults and terms to be mocked.

if you guys werent so against the idea of consuming black art you wouldve watched the popularization of the term between like 2008-2014

had to share this

In every way this is set up to be a joke like any other short video, it even uses the trope of main character in a wig to represent their mom, but it isn’t funny at all. It’s just sweet and nice
