A friendly PSA for everyone migrating from Wattpad to AO3!

Commenting Etiquette

  • No Unsolicited Concrit: Authors post fanworks for free as a hobby. Unless an author explicitly asks for constructive criticism in their notes, keep comments positive and critique-free.
  • Don't Like, Don't Read (DLDR): If a story, relationship, or trope bothers you, hit the back button. Leaving negative comments over subjective preferences breaks core fandom norms.
  • Phrase Update Requests Politely: Demanding "Update soon!" can feel transactional. Pair your excitement with appreciation for the current chapter (e.g., "Loved this chapter, can't wait to see where the story goes!").
  • Short Comments & Emojis Are Welcomed: You don't need to write an essay! Leaving a kudos or a single heart emoji in the comment section is a totally valid and appreciated form of comment.

Tagging & Relationships

  • Accurate Warning Tags: Always select the appropriate Major Archive Warnings or explicitly mark "Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings."
  • Distinguish / vs &: Use / strictly for romantic or sexual pairings (Character A/Character B). Use & exclusively for platonic or familial relationships (Character A & Character B).

Site Rules & Features

  • No Monetization: AO3 is a non-profit archive run entirely on donations. Selling physical copies anywhere on your profile or story text violates TOS and risks account suspension.
  • Public vs. Private Bookmarks: Bookmarks are public by default, and authors can see everything written in them. If you use bookmarks for personal ratings, critical notes, or reading progress, remember to check the Private box.

AND DON´T USE AI.

Edit: if you do use ai... tag it

Alright, everyone in the comments is like "it was closed because of pirating and don't you dare list alternatives because loose lips sink ships"

This is completly false. Rabbit shut down because they had no business model, were making no money whatsoever, and went bankrupt. What Rabbit did (host and stream remote-control virtual machines) is not inherently illegal by any means.

Hyperbeam is the exact same thing and I've been using it for years for perfectly legal activities -- you can display maps for d&d games, have youtube watch parties, play tag-team neopets, whatever you like. It has full access to the internet, so could someone do illegal things? Probably. But you could also do illegal things with your normal web browser. Not my problem.

Unlike Rabbit, Hyperbeam has a side-hustle (main-hustle?) offering more advanced virtual machines to businesses and schools, so they do actually make money and should stick around longer.

Now go experience the world wide web with your friends.

So it is done! The complete read through of SVSSS.

If you have a friend who you can't make read SVSSS, you can now (possibly) make them listen to it whilst driving or folding laundry or something.

21 individual chapter files or a Zip folder of the whole thing can be found here.

There is also the Youtube channel for people who prefer that.

Content warning for the last chapter: Some very bad sex in part 2. Blood and pain. Somewhat dubious consent, considering LBH is out of his mind and SQQ (at least in part) doing it to save Binghe and save the world. Take care of yourself and skip 0:12:00 to 0:19:00 in video 21, part 2 or 1:32:00-1:39:00 on the chapt 21 MP3 if you need to.

Just wanted to say thank you again for doing this! I finally managed to get past whatever was blocking me in the second book while I tried to read it myself because of your recordings, and I have high hopes of actually finishing them before the end of April.

F11 the full screen button? You’re scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???

Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document 😖

If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you

I study graphic design and my tutor recommended and used this in his classes at art college last year, it’s so good it has SO many features for free, I really recommend it, even if you’re just trying to learn the basics of PS, such a wonderful thing <3

The Yellowstone Wolves is the first case we study in any Ecology class, since it's the best example on how interconnected the ecosystem is - there's no direct reason why the presence of wolves would change the course of the rivers, but through a series of little things, it does. It's a reminder that everything is important, everything has a role in nature, and how the extinction of a population can bring an entire ecosystem down.
