my nana passed away yesterday. after months of fighting metastasized cancer on her liver and in her bones, her body finally said enough and slowly shut down.
she was a fantastic lady who had a huge heart and a giving nature, who always put everyone else before herself.
she will be missed. she will be loved. she will be remembered fondly.
when the weather in the mountains turns warm again, we will honour her spirit with a hike up to heartcreek, we took her there last summer and she loved it!
Hello Darling-doodles. I'm not really around these parts much these days. It seems like it's all systems go around here.
Kids are busy bees as the final competitions and grading sessions wrap up. Last month of all classes and lessons. Booking Weeboy into the little groms bike camp up at C O P, and the Missem is taking a fitness bootcamp through dance. Will likely try and see Nana as much as her treatments allow.
Next weekend is a Dance BBQ, Karate Grading, and Cello Recital. This weekend is a 3 day Feis, Lee's birthday and early morning group cello class.
Missem decided on her Juniour High and is excited to get to spend time there on Thursday. Sports day is Friday. Swimming lessons are for the next 2 weeks after that. Last day of classes will be spent at the zoo ~ maybe we'll see the baby tigers or the penguins. The grade six send off is soon too. And then finally Missem dances in the Stampede Parade...and then breathe!
And for the most part, I'm just trying to keep up and fits bits of creativity in the nooks and crannies.
Try & catch the transit of Venus tonight if you can. Much love, Bellas!! :)
went to walk the dogs and smalls yesterday, down by the river. think the peace bridge is an eye sore. stopped and watched a guy hopping his bike along the big rocks at the edge of the river...very cool. made the weeboy want to try. which is nifty but had the mom in me think of all the hazards and injures involved. ugh! maybe after orchestra auditions...and when i am not around to watch, at least until he's mastered it.
Happy New Year's Eve, beautiful souls!!! May 2012 bring you enough JOY to see you through the hard times and enough GRACE & PATIENCE to see you through the difficult moments that help you value and appreciate the all the good that is in your life!!
not into the season...but getting there...lots of creative moments happening. not wanting to be bustled to the in laws for the holidays, but don't want to start anything over it either. not into finding a mouse in the kitchen...disgusting buggers.
going to find some yummy espresso based beverages to get myself motivated and get on with the day...and i need to find a hexbug and more star trek hotwheels ships.
weegirl is having a sleep over friday and i'm taking a whack doodle of smalls sledging (does one sled or sledge? oh the things to ponder) and then to the pool on saturday...so i best be ready...copious amounts of food must be on hand for the lulls in activity. ;)
darling buttercups of LJ...really i am never here, life seems to have a life of it's own these days and daily does of creative exploration and lots of mindless FBing, i doubt i'll be posting very frequently. missem and i had a fun trip to Enoch and did well in her competitions. i am writing less but making more things...have a lovely friend order 90 bars of soap for the beginning of december! busy with kids stuff, family stuff, art stuff (yay!) but i miss some of you so very much...fill me in on what's been going on in your realm?
much love and squishy huggs (2 Gs cuz there so very big and heartfelt) :) K
ps i'm going to try and be on here and over at the bean more often, and not just to be a quick reading lurker ;)
been away for forever and a day...much going-ons but super busy my lovelies...biggest happens are:
art project for just shy of 200 kidlets was a smashing success!
the tall one's up for a new position, just waiting on the bean counters to crunch numbers and send him an offer :) possibly fewer hours (yay! i might get to see him once and awhile!)
the missem is loving dance and is rocking out at competitions! i believe she has 5 more this year...the fund raising sucks donkey balls ~ anyone need Safeway Gift Cards??
devy has a karate tourney on the weekend and then a performance next Sunday.
busy busy....but i love ya all! and i do read and lurk.
facebook is the easiest way to follow my dark (ish ;P) soul these days, just look up kristina clark my user pix is a poppy or a big green troll.
which would be better (for an 8 year old girlie who reads like a mofo but still is only 8) the spiderwick chronicles or the godlen compass books??
thanks ever so much. K
ps is harry potter all that great? i've never read them, but, now that i am needing age approperiate "bigger" books, i may need to....i've tried the lemony snicket stuff ( i find it funny) but the wee lass thinks it morbid (who gave her permission to have such a vocabulary ;P)
